Copying this from another blog I read :) WHAT I'M EATING THIS WEEK  Not much good stuff! With it being a coworker friends last week here, we have been going out a lot. Yesterday she wanted DQ, so I forced myself to eat a salad before we went so I didn't eat their food AND icecream. So I am trying to at least get lots of water and healthy stuff in in between those meals lol. Next week: Back on the normal bandwagon. WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT  Summer vacations. I miss looking forward to carefree summer days I had as a kid. WHAT I'M LOVING  Summer clothes--capris, crop pants, summer dresses. I need a pedicure though! WHAT I'VE BEEN UP TO  Not much! Work, raising a child, being a wife, making plans, etc WHAT I'M DREADING Actually, nothing. Life is good. WHAT I'M WORKING ON  Trying to figure out an organization method for Garett's play room. Shelves, I guess?? WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT  All of our upcoming activities: painting the living room/decorating,...

Wednesday Rambles

Potty training. I don't have the foggiest idea on where to start. Garett is obviously ready; which is just another way in which he is teaching me. I ask myself time and time again, "HOW did I get so lucky?" He never stops making me do double takes, from having to pick my jaw up off the floor, or tear up with pride. Yesterday was one of those moments. Remember how I said in my post yesterday that he asked to use the potty? Well last night, he just whipped out his skill of being totally potty trained. As soon as we got home, he pulled off his pants, ripped off his diaper and went straight for the potty. He had a big pee. I was in utter shock. Ummmm...wtf? When the heck did you get so big, bud!!?!  I decided to take this opportunity to let him run around diaper-free for an hour. In this time, he peed in the potty 3 more times on his own without prompting. Each time with a bigger smile on his face than the last. We would empty the contents of the potty together in the t...

Lately...

I'm feeling too lazy today to write a full thought ..so here are a few things lately - We are doing bi-weekly cleaning schedules starting June 4 with a cleaning company. Excited to buy a ton of time back for myself, and have a clean house. - I do a load of laundry a night to keep caught up, but it still manages to be more than that one load. - Garett peed in the potty last night. He took off his pants and diaper and asked for the potty, so I brought it to him in the play room, he sat on it and looked at me "mommy, it's coming out!". followed by "all done". I bought some special hand soap that he gets to use when he uses the potty, so he got to help dump the pee into the toilet, flush the toilet and wash his hands with his special soap. He was pretty impressed with himself. What a big boy. - This kid would eat scrambled eggs every meal of the day if I let him. He asked for some directly after dinner last night. Egg Monster! - There's a lot of wo...

My Vacation List

Tyler and I are a young couple--for now we like to use our time away wisely. We travel only when the weather is the pits back home, and when we need a break from the cold. In the future the island excursions will be once a year, and will include the children (if we have more). These will be our yearly family trip, and will take place during their March Breaks. We love these times away from Canada, we enjoy the beaches, the all-inclusives, the friendly island vibes. But we have other callings. We don't only want to travel to lush, exotic beaches and relax. We want to see the world. Stare in awe at its wonders, live history in real life, and feel connected with the things that make us human. Here is my list of the first four vacations on my list: 1) Ireland In Ireland, there are many things to take in--but in between the rolling hills and breezy fresh air, I would love to kiss the Blarney stone, visit the cliffs of Moher, experience the Gaelic Games first hand, cruise on the ...
