Weekend Recap

Image
This weekend turned out to be much quieter than expected. We wanted to get the living room painted, and go to a museum with G. It wasn't an outdoors kind if weekend, so we stayed in and hung out with friends. And even that didn't work out according to plan. That's what I love about weekends though! Sometimes plans change in a second! Friday I picked Garett up, went home and we ordered pizza instead of bbq'ing when one of Ty's friends came over. We hung out in the basement, I ran out to grab diapers, since I didn't realize we sent our last box to daycare earlier that day, and put g to bed. I wasn't far behind. Saturday we were up bright and early (6:30), thank you Mr. Garett. So we headed out for breakfast, tidied up a bit, and we all had a nap. Tyler headed out to town to cut a deck and went to an Asian market to pick stuff up to make sushi and dumplings. We got a "YAY SUSHI" from Garett --totally daddy's boy lol.  Ty's cousin came over and...

Paint Nite Recap

Image
For those of you that know me, you know that I'm not at all artistic. I don't create things. I can't make things, craft things, I have no God-given artsy talent. I heard of this Paint Nite event that they hold all over the city, and we picked one based on the painting. They range in skill levels, but we liked the Cherry Blossom tree (I was partial to picking this painting because we had Japanese Cherry Blossoms in our wedding centerpieces). So, Wednesday I worked 9-5 (which turned out to be 8-6:15), and we headed over to Merivale for the event. We grabbed a drink and ordered some food, and went to find our spot. There were about 40 people at the event, and it was a lot of fun. I know a lot of people feel painting is a relaxing experience. But I was a stressed out basket case the entire time. I have never been so filled with self-doubt and competitiveness at the same time. I knew I wasn't very good at painting (or assumed so anyways), and I knew I wanted my painting ...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

- This beautiful sunny day!! I can't wait to go out for lunch for a retirement party, and take a long walk along the River! - I also don't mind the rainy days when I'm stuck at work. Yeah, it makes me feel tired, but it's also a cozy feeling. And I would rather save the nice days for when I can go out! - Tomorrow I will come in late and work 9-5 since I have my wine and paint nite with some girlfriends at 7. I don't want to drive all the way home, so I will just work later so I can go right from here :) - This weekend we don't have much planned--our only free weekend until August. I think we might hit up a museum with G, or try and get the living room painted and hit up the splash pad. We will see! We are having a few people over Saturday night for a bbq since they can't make it on Canada Day. - Our Canada Day outfits I ordered came in the mail last night. We tried them on, and we're ready to go for the fair and bbq! - I am looking forward to p...
