Life lately

This is just how life is (crazy). I've come to terms with it, and I am trying to embrace it as much as I can. It seems a lot easier in the summer months, though :) On Monday the 18th (going way back 10 days!), Garett had a dentist appointment, Tuesday I had a going away lunch for a colleague (we ordered in), and had to rush out to an appointment to change up our life insurance policies. The Wednesday, Tyler had to do some paperwork in the evening, Thursday was the homeshow (skipped Beavers because we were home too late). Friday I was off work, did errands, loaded up and headed to Wakefield for Girls Weekend winter edition. I went to Shannons and we loaded up her stuff, and moved my stuff into her car, we went to do a few more important (lcbo) errands, and grabbed lunch while we waited for the other girls to be ready to go. We arrived around 1. Here is where we stayed : https://www.cottagesincanada.com/23668 We proceeded to drink and eat and visit and then the power went off...

Busy Weekend Recap and week look ahead

We had a bit of an unexpected busy-ish weekend. I knew we had a few things on the go planned, but we ended up being out of the house for much of the weekend (not complaining lol). Friday after work, we decided to have an impromptu double date with our good friends TJ and Jami. We had a double date to Delicious Steakhouse in Orleans planned on New Years Eve, but it didn't work out that we were able to go, so we kept post poning. Well, we finally decided to go. We had bought each other gift cards (lol, great minds think alike) in advance of the NYE date, so we each had one to use up. It was good! We started with some bacon wrapped scallops and bruschetta, ordered a bottle of pinot noir to share with the table (sans pregnant Jami), and all had different steaks-Ty had the surf&turf, while I had a steak with red wine gravy, caramelized onions and sautéed Portobello mushrooms. Loaded baked potatoes and root veggies mix. We were all too full for dessert, but we had a Spanish coffee ...

Cancun, MX Feb 24-Mar 3 2019 RECAP

On Saturday February 23, we dropped the kids off at Shannon and Casey's house very quickly in the evening (around 6:00, I would say). We went home, ate a quick snack and were not long out of bed. We were up at 3:15 AM on Sunday to load up the truck, and head to the park and fly. Our plane was on time, and we headed to the de-icing bay. However, shortly after de-icing, the pilot came on the intercom and announced that the weather had taken a turn for the worse and we would be heading back to the gate to wait for a new flight schedule. We sat for a few minutes, and he came back and told us that the freezing rain has momentarily stopped, so we will deice the wings again quickly and get out before it starts again...and that's what we did. It was a bit of a bumpy take off (very) and the first 20 minutes or so until we reached altitude was bumpy. The seatbelt sign was on for the first 35-40 minutes and then it was a perfect flight, I even napped a bit! All in all, we...

10 More Days!

We have only 9 sleeps left until we drop the kids off to Shannon and Casey, and leave at 4:00AM to head to the airport on the 24th, and I haven't put a single article into anyones luggage yet. My lists make me feel prepared, but packing is a huge process to me, and this is the latest I have ever started! I'm starting to panic slightly lol. Ottawa was just dumped with 30cm of extra snow, and apparently are calling for more tomorrow. Yesterday, I stayed home and worked from home, but because so many others were doing that too, the server kept crashing. So productivity was down in the AM, but by the afternoon, the issues were resolved. Tyler plowed the driveway and then took Garett up the road to plow our neighbour/friends driveway. They stayed for lunch and played a bit, and then I grabbed a shower, Keira woke from her nap, I finished up some work and threw some meat in the oven to cook. We unexpectedly had our neighbours over for dinner, the kids played and they headed home ar...

Mundane Madness

Things have been slow moving (time, productivity) the last week or so. I am just finding a gross lack in motivation whenever the weather is grey. I feel a huge disconnect when the weather is like this with Tyler, with all of my friends and family. This is all because of my own doings though. I stop saying yes to things, I stop making plans. I really just nail my feet to the floor in my house and wait out the rest of winter. Plus, I am having so much anxiety surrounding this trip (I hate travelling when the potential of snow storms can affect flight times, turbulence, etc). But other than that, lately I have been slowly plugging away at my house after watching "Tidying Up". Since I did a HUGE riddance before we moved (huge is an understatement), I don't have much to do in the thinning out department, but to organize the cupboards and drawers better is my jam. - I repurposed the pantry back into a pantry (well, kitchen storage) over the weekend. I was using it as a lin...

Life Lately

Image
As per the norm, things have been crazy on the work front for us, home front, and just all around keeping up with life! I will say, if it was any other way, I wouldn't know what to do with myself lol. On the weekend of Garett's birthday, we had a bunch of family and friends over to celebrate this big SIX year old. He had an "army" type party-so just a bunch of camo things, tank balloons, etc A good time was had by all (I think lol) After everyone left, Ty and G played some tic tac toe and checkers while I de-birthdayed and cleaned up. Ty had a rehearsal on Jan 31 (also it was his 36th birthday), so we ran home and I made a special dinner (mandarin orange chicken, rice and salad). Then he rushed out, and I brought miss Keira to our friends/neighbours and they played while I took Garett to Beavers. The princess threw up this night because she ate too much (dinner at our house, at dinner with brin, an apple, a small brownie, two chee...
