Long weekend recap

Image
What a nice long weekend! On Friday, Garett had a PD day for school, so got to go to his program, which he loves going to. I had an interview at work for another position, and think it went well. I won't find out for 2.5-3 more weeks though, as they round out the end of the interviews. Wish me luck! The kids played outside once they got home, and we didn't have much indoor time for the remainder of the weekend! Our friends Rod and Sharon decided to pop in and Sharon and I cooked together-we made a keto cheeseburger casserole and visited. They left around 9:30, so Ty and I watched an episode of Game of Thrones before bed. Saturday was momma's day out! I started early-leaving the house around 8. I went and got gas, went to the ATM and headed to the EY center around 9 for the Outgrow Outplay sale. I met Shannon there, and I went and picked out a bunch of clothes for Keira for the summer, some stuff for Garett, a few little fun things, and  a new outdoor cloc...

Mothers Day Weekend Recap

Image
As per usual, we had a very low key mothers day weekend. On Friday, the kids came home from school/daycare and presented me their gifts (flower pots with flowers sprouting, a long stemmed rose, crafts). My favourite craft was a card Garett made that says "Here's a picture of your little chick" and the school printed a photo of each child holding the chicks that hatched in their class. Garett chose "Popcorn" to take his photo with: That evening, we grabbed some burgers and headed over to TJ and Jami's house. We were meeting with Bill and Donna  (other neighbours) and their son Joshua, who will be babysitting the three kids for a bit this summer in lieu of summer camp. They got along famously! In fact, we went home and put the kids to bed and had him come over so we could go out with his parents. We headed to the Heart and Crown on Preston Street to see "Roadhouse" around 9:00 and stayed until 1:00. Great tunes, great company. Another ma...

Thoughts on Thursday

-This weekend is Mother's Day weekend. It is also Comiccon. I don't really mind this, I don't expect Tyler to spoil me or anything, and I want to spend the day with the kids. So we will go and do some fun stuff! I have a few potential things planned :) -I told Tyler PLEASE do not buy me flowers (they're pretty, but they die and are a huge waste of money). If he wanted to get me something for mothers day, let it be paint and ceiling fixtures for the main floor, and for him to do the work haha. -My tax refund came in. I love this time of year! One thing I pay into that actually benefits me once a year! What to do! -Tomorrow night, we are meeting with a neighbours son up the road. He will watch the kids for the first two weeks of summer at our house, which will be a huge help. Then we have Keira starting at Garett's school in the preschool program, and Garett will go to the summer camp run by the daycare Keira will go to. Now I just have to figure out how to tell...

33 before 33 update

-Travel to a country I have not yet been to- I've been to the US briefly before, but in June we will go for a concert and another in October, so will officially christen my first overnight USA visit . - Change my name to "Wood", officially - renovate the basement bathroom - Have a date day with each of the children individually Haven't had a Keira day, but have had a Garett day ! - Host a neighbourhood BBQ Planned for long weekend in August - Get all of my pictures printed and sorted - Update the kids baby journal books (I haven't written in them since I gave birth to Keira). Wrote in Keira's, but haven't updated Garett's yet. - Decide if I should upgrade my lease at Ford, buy out my lease, or buy a new brand Think I will buy-I have my eye on a few different vehicles (not Ford). I have 16 more months left on my lease though, so I think I was a bit premature with this one. - Go on a nature walk for an entire afternoon (kid free), and just take...

Happy Tuesday

Last weekend, we were busy (in a good way) Friday I got home and realized we needed milk, and a few little things, so I ran into town to go to Sobey's and home. It was a relaxed night! On Saturday morning, we were up bright and early and off to Cornwall again for my nieces birthday party. We stayed for a while, and my sister got us some yummy Keto cupcakes from a bakery there (thanks!), and we headed back around 1:15 to drop the kids and their stuff off at my mother in laws around 2:30 for a sleepover. We went home and prepared (brought chairs up and out to the garage, made hamburger patties, tidied up toys and put laundry that needs to be folded in our bedroom lol. I also had to move all of the outside toys (bikes, scooters, plasma cars, kids wheelbarrows , etc) out of the way for cars. We turned on the music, and people started to show up. We had a late night celebrating Tyler's cousin, but it was a lot of fun! We were up around 8:30 the next morning, Tyler went into ...

This weekend, we finally got to celebrate Easter with my parents.  Sunday we had a couple fires to burn some brush and old wood- we have a ton more fires before we get it all cleared away, but it was a good start. Put a good dent in it ! Shannon and Casey and Rylie and Jami and Brin came over. Kids ran and played outside all day. Took a break for a little bit in the hot tub (which wasn’t very hot) and then we ordered pizza.  I was home on Monday , and again on Tuesday. Thursday I work from home. It’s a nice chill week! This weekend I am heading up to Cornwall for a bit for my nieces birthday and then we are hosting a birthday party for Ty’s cousin turning 40 in the evening I have to get home to prepare for.  Not much is going on over here other than trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible.  We are in the midst of booking a trip to Nashville in October for 4 nights. So that’s a fun thing to look forward to :)  ...

Life lately

Easter was hectic. Tyler's extended family hosted Easter the weekend before the actual day, so we went to that for a little bit so the kids could play and dance. Tyler became a member of the Ottawa Mustang Club, so he brought Garett to one of the meet and greets. Obviously Garett had no fun at all. The Saturday day of Easter weekend, Keira had a bit of a cold (she had a fever the night before but quickly got better), so we ended up not going to my family's meal. Good thing we didn't! The power went out, and the sump pump was full, so we had to quickly get a generator. If we had left, our basement would be flooded right now. The alarm started going off almost as soon as the power went off. So we shut the generator off to see how quickly it was filling--it was pouring in. The power came back on a few hours later, before bedtime (thankfully)!! I had lots of work to do with chocolate and toys! lol I grabbed a quick picture of the toys the bunny left, but not many ...
