Life Lately
-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. I deal mostly with logic and facts, and less with emotions; they think I would be good as an analyst (weird, since this is pretty well my role at work), and with numbers (which I also do all day at work lol). I'm stubborn and loyal and do not have a mean streak. That I am the same person at home as I am in social settings...blah blah blah. It was interesting!
-Last weekend, we went out to Tyler's Disco Inferno show to celebrate our friend Jami and Donna's birthdays. We danced away (one of Keira's ECE's from daycare came out too!) and it was a lot of fun.
-The kids and I took a trip to Proulx Farms to visit the sugar bush on Sunday. We took a horse drawn wagon ride, had some maple syrup cotton candy, played on the many play structures, visited their petting zoo, bought some treats and grabbed some happy meals on the way home!
-We tried the new "instacart" app for groceries. Usually I order through PC express and go pick up, but you can also order and they deliver to your door within an hour! It was great :)
-Kids and I went on a run to the store to get large cardstock, and some nice stickers and decorating supplies to make "welcome home daddy" cards. I ordered a "welcome home" banner, and we got some gift bags to fill with snacks, crossword books, and a few other goodies for dad coming home from Reno.
-Tomorrow night, we are heading to Jami's house to celebrate her birthday with the kids. She is supplying dinner, and I will bring her birthday cake.
-Getting the kids passports, but they weren't ready on time, or the kids and I would have been heading to Cuba with Jami and her kids next week. She leaves on Tuesday! We will go next year together with the kiddos :) While she's gone, it's her husbands birthday, so I will get a cake for him too and make sure the neighbours all get together and sing to him and play darts and crokinole!
-Garett is pretty excited that tomorrow they are building "leprechaun traps" at school. We have collected small boxes, and I got him a bunch of different green material and plastic table clothes to decorate his box with (and share with his friends).
-We are counting down the days to our Jamaica trip! Can't wait!
-The kids ask me daily about Easter lately lol..Garett gave up xbox and playstation for lent, so he is pretty excited for easter to arrive (which was amazing that he gave those up on his own when he just bought a few new games!).
-I am all set for easter. Everything is done and ready - all I have left to do is make sure we have the carrots :) It's going to be a very quiet easter this year, with no other plans, so we went all out to make it extra special at home :)
-Also looking forward to our night away on March 15 to Montreal to see Theo Katzman in concert! I made our reservations for dinner at Brasserie T! and am very excited to try it out.
-The kids are excited for March Break camp festivities which include the movie theatre, skating at TD place, walks to Pizza Pizza, GlowSports, etc.
-Our dentist appointments had gotten rescheduled since our new dentist was on vacation, so Keira's first appointment ever is coming up this month, and the rest of us are scheduled for our normal cleanings.
-Garett is seeing his new Ophthalmologist this month, since he was referred out of Dr. Bonn's office (his eyes are doing well). He is excited to pick out new big boy glasses!
-I booked my hair appointment and mani/pedi appointment already for the trip.
-We finally finished painting the upstairs (kitchen was still left) and put up my "command center" stuff. It didn't turn out as expected, but I still love it! Also painted the basement hall and got my wall decal put up. I love how it came together :)
-Next, we plan to rip out the cupboards in the basement so we can get started on the rec room! Not sure when that will be.
-Yesterday was THIRTEEN degrees, and it was so beautiful :) I got out for a nice walk at lunch, and was only screamed at by one angry homeless person! Tis the season lol
Hope you are all enjoying your week!
