Bucket list

-You know what? My bucket list is overwhelming. And that's no surprise to me. I want to see everything, witness everything and be part of everything. I hate the feeling of thinking I will miss out on something, so my list is perpetually getting bigger and bigger (and better!). But on an average day, these things are not possible. I cannot jet off to Spain to watch the running of the bulls, or leave for Italy to stomp on grapes in a vineyard in Tuscany at any moment. These things take planning. They take a lifetime to finish, hence the term "bucket list"... Do them before you kick the bucket.

So I won't blur the lines here. I understand the concept. But on a smaller scale I have things I hope to do on a more attainable level from week to week, month to month and year to year.

March has been pretty slow, but things will pick back up. It took me a while to transition back into work, into a new job, with new people and to deal with G going to daycare. Now that I think I found a good blend of work vs home, I can throw other things into the mix.

This Saturday, Tyler and I packed up for our March date (we have two planned, but this was our alone together date). We went to rideau street's Holtz Spa for a 1hour couples massage. We need to make this a regular thing. We had one when we were in cancun and there's something to be said about both of you finding peace and serenity in that hour, instead of one person and going home to a spouse that's still wound up. Afterwards, we popped into Chapters for some Starbucks and a few impulse purchases and made our way home. It was a wonderful short afternoon out, and our monthly chance to stay connected. Success.

Also on my to-do list of things this month:

-take Garett out to do something fun/new as a family. We are taking him to see Fred Penner--my childhood favourite, and I think he will love it because of the music!

-try paleo cooking

-plan meals ahead

-be better at keeping on top of laundry

-open Garett a savings account for all the money he's been saving :)

-stop online shopping and go back to shopping in actual stores (this will make saving money easier too)

- smile more at strangers and make more eye contact (this is an ongoing struggle since I've had the kiddo and had a year off to become socially awkward LOL)

...next month is a new set of wants, but one thing at a time:)

Take time to smell the roses, everyone! Rome wasn't built in a day :)
