Playing a game of catch-up

I know I say it time and time again, but life is just crazy, and it's hard to keep up to date  so here I am, playing catch up again.

Two weekends ago, it was our friends birthday, so we declared it a date night. We made dinner for the kids, my mother in law, Tyler's aunt and my sister in law and nephew. My SIL drove us to our first spot at Johnny Canucks. 

We had a few drinks there together and then walked over to our friends house to visit with his parents for a bit and we all ubered over to Doolys. We played a few rounds of pool and headed over to the Waverly. We ran into a bunch of Tyler's old friends and ended up sitting around the fire on the patio until they closed. We ubered home and went right to bed. 


What else has been going on? The last two weeks have flown by. 

We tried on Keira's birthday dress and cake smash outfit to make sure they fit for her shoot next week




- this past weekend, we went to Kids Kingdom with our friends Shannon and Casey, and their daughter Rylie.
-we are at the chip truck next door afterwards










-we have been working hard on plans and ty has been building stuff alongside the contractors in the new store location that opens in a couple weeks



-Garett has been going to swimming lessons every Monday. This plast week, he swam underwater for a little over a meter , by himself without being held. He also did cannonballs, pencil jumps and star jumps off the side of the pool, and went down the slide and swam to the surface by himself ! What a kid.


-we started buying all of our meats at the local meats butcher shop. And all of our veggies now come from the farmers market of locally grown produce. I feel much better about feeding the kids , and ourselves stuff we know doesn't touch any factory machines. I'm so sick of reading about recalls and such.


-we have been looking actively at houses , but so far, nothing has really popped out to us that would be worth the stress of moving for.

-Garett is totally ready for school, Keira is ready for daycare , I'm NOT ready to go back to work sept 18 lol

-this weekend we are going to the cottage for three nights, so been running rrrands and packing here and there for that.

-taking g to the library every few days to get 15 more books out. We will have read all of the books there soon at this rate, LOL

-can't think of anything else right now !

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
