Life lately

Life has been crazy! We haven't been able to get around to doing much, but on April 21, we went out to see Super Troopers 2. Tyler had contributed to the kickstarter campaign, so we got a bunch of stuff in the mail, and free ticket vouchers as well as a free digital copy when it gets released. It was funny. Not as good as the first, but still worth the watch :)

This past weekend was a bit hectic, but fun! On Friday night, we loaded up the kids (and G's tractor) and headed to our friends that live backing onto a golf course. They have a bunch of land, so the kids played in the sand box, on the play structure, in their vehicles, on bikes, etc and we had a big dinner and I shared a few drinks with Jami. It was nice to chat. Keira went to sleep in a playpen, and we set up the monitor. She woke around 9:30 PM, so we loaded the kids up and went home and put them right to bed. The were out cold with all the fresh air (it was so beautiful out)

Saturday morning, we made a big breakfast after Tyler went to work. I hung out with the kids for  a bit before he came home, and I brought Garett over to Shan and Casey's to keep an eye on Rylie for a few hours, while Casey had gigs, and Shan went out of town for a Stag. I brought the kids to get some mcdonalds, we built forts and watched Trolls, played with blocks, made paper airplanes and saw who could go the farthest, and ran around looking for bad guys lol Around 3:45, we loaded up and dropped her off at her Great Aunts house, and went home to my MIL, SIL and nephew. Tyler and I headed out shortly after. We  went to his cousins 39th birthday celebration. There wasn't a ton of family there, but a good time was had by all. We got home around 1:30/2:00 AM

 

 

 

Tyler and Garett went out to run errands on Sunday morning, and Keira decided that she realllly liked  the guys working on the roof next door. She was glued to this window, waving and giggling away. Good grief. Snoopy girl. She napped well, even though they were very loud all day.

 

The guys made an enormous mess of our front and backyard, and Tyler went out to insist to them that it was very unprofessional, to clean up after themselves, since we have children playing in the yard often. They agreed. They worked from 7AM-8PM on a SUNDAY. which is unprofessional as it is. At 8PM (an hour after my kids were in bed), they turned on a gas powered leaf blower to "clean up". I ran downstairs after it made garett wake up scream-crying in fear. I whipped the front door open and told them to call it a night. It's 8PM and I have two little kids that WERE sleeping right above his ruckus. He apologized and packed it in.

Yesterday, I was home for the day, and I wanted to get the cushions started. We had been recommended this paint to paint our patio cushions. They were so faded (you can see the fade lines in the background from the backs of the chairs!). So I washed the cushions all down with soapy water, and let them dry. The main problem is that they soak in SO much paint, that it's going to take three cans (at $13 a can) to paint each cushion! I don't know if it's worth the time and effort. I may find other cushions, or get a new set. I don't know what to do. I do like the colour though. Painting over an ugly sage green with this slate blue/grey colour and was going to buy some accent cushions.

 

This is HALF of the cushions we have to paint, and only the backs done. This is FOUR coats, and needs two more. Three cans worth.

 

The rest of the day, I just kept the windows open, put away all of the laundry, scrubbed the kitchen, cleaned our bedroom and changed everyones bedding, made some dinner, ran some errands--it's amazing how productive you can be with no kids at home! lol

The accountant came over to finish the book keeping for us around 4 PM while I was gone to pick up the kids. He was there until shortly after 7. Kids went to bed, and we laid in bed reading until we fell asleep. Super exciting lives! lol
