Life lately

Easter was hectic.
Tyler's extended family hosted Easter the weekend before the actual day, so we went to that for a little bit so the kids could play and dance.

Tyler became a member of the Ottawa Mustang Club, so he brought Garett to one of the meet and greets. Obviously Garett had no fun at all.

The Saturday day of Easter weekend, Keira had a bit of a cold (she had a fever the night before but quickly got better), so we ended up not going to my family's meal. Good thing we didn't! The power went out, and the sump pump was full, so we had to quickly get a generator. If we had left, our basement would be flooded right now.


The alarm started going off almost as soon as the power went off. So we shut the generator off to see how quickly it was filling--it was pouring in. The power came back on a few hours later, before bedtime (thankfully)!! I had lots of work to do with chocolate and toys! lol


I grabbed a quick picture of the toys the bunny left, but not many of the rest of the house. Garett got up "to go pee" right after I had shut all of the lights in the house off and I was standing in the dark in my bedroom. He assumed we were both asleep, thankfully, and ran back to his bed lol!

Garett was up at 6:00 and played on his ipad for 15 minutes before he mysteriously wound up in Keira's room to wake her up lol (she would normally sleep until 7:30 or 8). The kids were so excited and had so much fun on their hunt and looking through their new treasures.

Then later on in the day, we headed over to my mother in laws for another little hunt and some spaghetti. Kids got a lot of playing in, but we had to leave around 6"30 because the kids were beat.

Then we got home and they had a second wind, so I made some coconut cream pies (keira ate leftover whipped cream I made), and they played outside.

The next morning, I took a pie over to our neighbour/friend whose birthday was spent in the hospital with her fiancée, and whose favourite pie is coconut cream. YUM.


We ended up getting the dog ready and her daughter and went on a 5.6km walk/bike ride together. It was a BEAUTIFUL day.

We went back home and played in the yard until Keira's nap time. Then Jami picked Garett up and he went to play at their house until Keira woke up.

When she got up, I got her dressed and picked up Garett and we went into town for some popeyes. The plan was ice cream for dessert. Well, popeyes was closed, so we just went next door to Menchies. Keira got cookie dough flavoured frozen yogurt with sprinkles, gummy bears and chocolate syrup. Garett had Reeses flavour with oreo, and gummy bears lol

We went home and played more in the yard and made some real supper.

The weather has been so on and off lately, the yard was almost dry yesterday when we played outside, but today it's pouring rain again. Over it. Plus all of the local flooding--it's scary! The weather is so scary the last few years :(

This weekend, we finally get to go see my family! Tyler has a gig on Saturday evening, so we will come back in the afternoon. Sunday we have a bunch of leaves and cardboard and stuff to burn, so hopefully it's a nice day and not too windy or wet , or else we wont do it!
