Hockey Games and Birthdays: A weekend recap


Friday, I had booked the day off work. So I brought the kids to school/daycare, and went home until the house cleaner got there. I went into town and had some breakfast with Shannon and Everlea at Kozy Nest, and then we went and dad a bit of shopping at the mall (Aub44, Bath and Body Works, The Sens Store).
I headed home after, grabbed a shower and did my hair/makeup and watched the guys building the new water feature in the yard. It's done now and tarped until the spring when they will finish.


I picked the kids up around 2:45 (to avoid the dismissal bell at 3:00), and we headed home for a snack. The babysitter arrived around 3:45, so we headed out. We went to our friend's Jess and Jason's house (it was his birthday). Since he paid for the limo at the end of the night for our bachelor/bachelorette, we decided to return the favour and bought him and all our friends a ride to and from the sens game in a hummer stretch limo. It was a lot of fun :)






At the game, they had gotten a box, so we all hung out and had ridiculously expensive beer, and ate a ton of food! We even made it on the jumbotron a few times dancing and for the air guitar challenge, lol







We got home around 12:30AM, and went right to bed. Saturday was a lazy day for the most part. We tidied up toys and did some yard work. The babysitter came over around 4:30, and we headed into town to meet the sound technician at 5:00 at Moose Maguires. It was Tyler's aunts surprise 60th birthday and a ton of local musicians were there to celebrate. I had a few drinks and visited while Tyler played most of the night. Party was over by 11 or so, and Ty drove us home. It was right to bed again (too many kind-of late nights, and I drag my butt all week).









Sunday we played with some neighbourhood kids in the morning, and Garett had a birthday party. Tyler was supposed to play at a celebration of life, but the music was cancelled. So instead, we putted around the house and I went and grabbed some groceries.

Monday night, we hosted a dinner for a man I work with who is on work travel from out west. It was nice to introduce Ty to someone from work, and have my work dad over to meet Tyler lol

The rest of the week is looking pretty lazy. Milk program finally starts for Garett today, and lunch lady is in full swing. The kids are dressing up tomorrow and bringing in some treats, and then the big treat-or-treating night. Friday is picture day for Garett and Keira, and then another busy weekend. We are going to Joey's for dinner on Friday for another guy I work with, in town for the week. Saturday, Ty has a disco gig (which I'm not going to, so it sounds like a lazy night in finally :) ).

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Can't believe it's already almost school time!! -as a "goodbye" gift from g, we bought his daycare provider a necklace from peoples that is a heart with some Garnet stones in it (Garett's birthstone), to remember him by, and I ordered an Aukey essential oils diffuser , a doTERRA starter kit and an essential oils mixing guide recipe book thing. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
