Halloween weekend Recap

Halloween, in its typical fashion was cold, damp and gloomy. The night before halloween, we carved our pumpkins. This year was the first we just threw out the seeds. We always clean and bake them and no one even eats them, so I saved myself the heartache this year.

I worked from home the day of Halloween, and it was great! I had time to get the cups and plates and stuff set out and tidy up a bit. It was a wet halloween, but we just put rain gear and warm clothes under the kids costumes, and they had a great time collecting candy. I walked with them to a few houses and then went home to order pizza and have a glass of wine, and hand out candy to the EIGHT kids we got lol. The kids loaded into the back of my SUV with an adult and they drove from house to house, hopping out at each driveway. It seemed to work well.

November 1 (Friday) was picture retake day for Garett (he was sick on picture day), and also preschool picture day- I can't wait to see their photos :)

The power was on and off all day, and Ty and I were supposed to go downtown for dinner as two men I work with were saying goodbye to go back to their home stations. But between the power being off, and the week feeling so long, we decided to bail and stayed home, picked up a ton of sushi and watched a movie with the kids.

Saturday, Tyler's store started hosting their Pokémon lessons for kids. So he took Garett in to build his deck, and learn the ins and outs. It's every Saturday for two hours, so I think that's their new thing lol. Saturday night, Tyler had a gig with the disco band, so I stayed in with the kids and ordered in some food, and cuddled.

Sunday was a lazy day. We didn't get up to much, but Garett started his drum lessons, which he was very excited about.

This week they are raising money for charity at school/preschool, so it's a bunch of theme days. Yesterday was crazy hair day, so G had a mohawk that we sprayed black and green, today was school spirit day (they had to wear their Squires shirt, which I FINALLY found last night), tomorrow is PJ day, then its sports jersey day and Friday is hat day. We send a couple of dollars each day, which he loves to hand in lol.

Tomorrow, we are having our neighbours for dinner, so I have to place a grocery order today. And Thursday I work from home (I am on a once a week schedule, which is great!) and I get to catch up on laundry before the cleaner on Friday :)
