I am feeling so, so uncomfortable today. There's no way to sit or lay or stand that I can find relief from the pressure and tightness in my pelvis and tummy. So, I decided to repack my diaper and hospital bags in a way that made more space for the last few things I need to toss in.
I have decided Tyler will need his own bag since I can't fit everything in my new hospital bag (I know, I'm packing too much but when I'm away from home--especially being in the hospital--I will want as many homey familiar things as possible!).

As Tyler was cooking a big breakfast this morning, I took the liberty of taking pictures of what I put in my bags (I have seen lots of mommies to be doing this in the blogging world, so here goes!):

First thing's first. Here is my new hospital bag courtesy of my husband for Christmas :) I have been looking for an excuse to get one of these bags, and this was the perfect time! lol I just got it in the mail on Jan 4 and couldn't wait to fill it up with all my new goodies!

The first few things I added were the clothing essentials! From top to bottom: A pair of comfy, warm slippers, a crummy nightshirt (I have heard if you don't want blood all over it, don't bring it lol) and three nursing nighties just in case I have a more unexpected extended stay. A bunch of big comfy cotton underwear and 2 comfy (wireless) nursing bras. I have since also added 2 pairs of warm socks and am just waiting on my new soft robe in the mail (coming on the 8th) to add in!

Then the more fun stuff :) In no particular order: 2 Magazines in case the wait is long or if I have an extended stay. Breast pads, bar soap, some baby sized bandaids just in case, body lotion, shampoo, hair elastics, bobby pins, hairbrush, earplugs (I have heard if you want any sleep at the hospital, these are a MUST), toothbrushes(one for me and one for daddy), toothpaste, refreshing facial wipes, deodorant for myself and Ty and a package of the biggest Always Overnight Pads I could find by suggestion of other moms as well! Tyler's bag will need to hold a towel for each of us (heard hospital towels are yucky feeling), snacks, mints an overnight change of clothes for him. We will also add at the last moment phone chargers, camera/charger and video camera/charger. I will likely add some kind of mascara or something too since there will be pictures lol.

What's more important even then my bag is the baby's bag! Here is the diaper bag I purchased to use :) Made by Baby Innovations. I got a rockin' deal on it and I just LOVE it. SO many pockets inside and out and a thermal bottle holder on each side of the bag. Seems like a good buy to me!
So again, I'll start with clothing necessities I packed. The first thing is his bundle bag with a hood to wear home from the hospital. More convenient then a big snow suit and they have the slots in it for the car seat so you don't have to worry about that:) Next to it are 4 sleepers. I packed 2 newborn sizes and 2 3 month sized jumpers in case he comes out more then 8 lbs and can't fit in the smaller 2. Then under that we have a burp pad, a soft sherpa blanket, 2 hats, 2 pairs of sockies and 3 scratch mittens.
Next I put in the essentials for baby (may not need it for the hospital but it will stay in the diaper bag for oncoming days!). I need to add a thing of formula in case I can't breast feed (then I'll want to use the brand I want to use, not what the hospital provides). Here we have a bottle of baby lotion, some vaseline, lip balm, sunglasses for baby, more elastics, disposable diaper bags, a comb, nasal aspirator, two 0+ months toys, wipes, a receiving blanket, disposable breast pads, a travel change pad, boogie wipes, pacifier/toy wipes, a peepee teepee, purell, a bib, lanolin, kleenex and about 20 diapers just in case (not sure if the hospital provides them).
Last  but not least, my two main necessities lol...my nursing pillow and my exercise ball which has come highly recommended to bring as it will help with labour pains/pressure before the epidural, etc.

Now that it's all pretty well ready to go, I feel pretty well ready to go too! Wednesday is my next doctors appointment where we do my Group B Strep Test and then I can go at any time!

The playpen is all assembled and the car seats are ready to install..just have to get the stroller put together and all that stuff is ready too! All the laundry is caught up, the fridge is stocked, my hospital outfit is ready to go and the cars are filled with gas. We're just about there! :)

Last doctors appointment I went to (last Weds) I got my flu shot. I for one, do not agree with flu shots, and have never gotten one before because I don't see the point. However, a prerequisite to be admitted to the hospital is the flu shot. They would apparently turn me away as a woman in labour if I didn't get it, which makes no sense. But to get there and be turned away is not really an option to me at this point, so I sucked it up and got the stupid needle. Well let me tell you--it hurt a little more to get then having blood taken and my arm was just stiff for the rest of the afternoon. I now have a red circle--about the size of a toonie--over the spot my shot was given that is swollen and sometimes itchy. I called the doctors office when this happened because I thought maybe it was an allergic reaction. The nurse in the office tells me that no, it's normal for up to a week to have swelling/tenderness/itchiness and to feel sluggish. Yah, like I needed more help feeling sluggish! lol...luckily my PEP is gone and I am no longer insanely itchy all over my tummy , arms and legs :) (Huge bonus since that is said to last through the rest of your pregnancy and after for some time once it shows up!)

It is snowing so much right now! So we decided once Tyler was finished making breakfast that we would watch the Adam Sandler movie "Jack and Jill" that I pvr'd the other night. Now he's outside cleaning off the cars and snow blowing the driveway.

I needed to go to the store for more milk and those necessities but he probably won't feel like it after he's done out there (it's taking a while lol) so I'll just go tomorrow when the snow has stopped :)

In the meantime I have one basket of laundry to put away and a load of clean dishes to put away and then the rest of the afternoon looks like relaxation :)

Last night I was supposed to go over to a friends house for a "girls night" type thing but lost the desire to do it when I realised I was going to be driving alone in the dark on back roads that are bad for deer. Tyler wasn't too keen on the idea of me going and driving by myself either so I said forget it--especially since there were a few girls going I don't even really know, and am not in the socializing mood at this point (downright grouchy most of the time to be honest lol). So instead, we got a call from the baby's soon to be Godparents and they had asked if we wanted to get together to go out for dinner and celebrate Christmas/New Year's since we usually go over for dinner during the holidays but didnt get a chance to this year!
So we headed out from their place to go to the Keg on Huntclub--no such luck! There was about an hour wait and we were all way too hungry to care enough to wait.So over to Moxie's we went and got seated right away!
I was so looking forward to the mushrooms neptune at the Keg but was even more happy with the crab/scallop cakes Ty and I split--also ate some of Rod and Sharon's spicy mushroom and goat cheese dip with naan bread--YUMM. For a main I had a herb and onion penne with grilled chicken in a creamy asiago sauce. For those that know me, know I NEVER finish a pasta dish--I finished this entire one (with the exception of a few pieces of chicken) since it wasn't at all rich like alfredo sauce style white sauces. so yummy! We were going to split on dessert but we were just too stuffed and I don;t think I could have eaten another bite. Rod and Sharon picked up the tab as our Christmas gift (so sweet) and we went back to the house and gave them their gifts. For Sharon, we bought her the 50 Shades of Grey book (she had been saying she wanted to read them) and a nice pewter book mark with an S on it with Rhinestones and for Rod Ty had picked out this Tremolo Pedal similar to one Rod had sold a while back and regrets selling. So it was a nice Christmas there :) Sharon and I settled in and watched "Because i said so" and the boys played a round of pool before we headed home! We were in bed by 10:30 and slept right through until about 8:30 this morning lol oops! :)

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is enjoying the small dump of snow today!
