First flu:survival guide
I don't know how we did it, but we survived Garett's first flu.
My poor boy got sick at his first birthday party. What a memory to have.
After that the fevers started spiking, the Motrin and Tylenol started flowing, the cool baths ensued at mommy and daddy both got sick at the same time.
What.a.week.
Tuesday he went for his 12 month shots and wellness checkup. The shots made the fevers worse. There were a few times we almost loaded up and went to the children's hospital, but he was still eating normally, playing during the day, getting lots of fluids and sleep, so there wasn't anything seriously wrong. Our doctor said it was a bug and to let it run it's course. I never anticipated letting a bug run it's course to be so so so heart breaking to watch. I felt useless, helpless, pathetic. There was nothing more I could do as a mother for my baby. Ugh! Hopefully those "bugs" are few and far between.
So anyways, that's where I've been--and insanely busy at work. Will recap the rest of life at a later time, but for now , it is bed time (yes at 8 pm) for us over here.
Good night all, enjoy the rest of your weekend!:)
