Life lately...
Trust me when I say life is crazy (and fun). Sometimes we get some time to ourselves (and on the rare occasion I get some "me" time and things are even more heavenly.
Between work, commuting, cooking, cleaning and playing hide and seek, there isn't too much time left. But sometimes I get to put on my big girl panties (I hate that word lol) and get classy. This weekend I wanted to do something different--have a dinner we wouldn't normally have, and something we couldn't get anywhere else. Fondue. That's right--straight out of the 70's dinner--except better fondue pots lol. We got three amazing fondue sets for our wedding and I always wanted to put them to use, Tyler's cousin and his girlfriend decided to come over, so I immediately ran to the store.
For the oil fondue, we had chicken breasts and strip loin steaks to cook. I didn't realize how juicy and tender cooking like this makes the meat! Yum!
For the cheese fondue (Emmental and Gargonzola cheeses) infused with white wine. Different breads to dip and some steamed veggies. I made WAY too much cheese fondue, but it was my favourite!
On the side, some caramelized onion and cremini mushroom crostini with a whipped goat cheese and roasted garlic spread (toot toot--this was amazing).
We spent the rest of the evening watching a movie and listening to 90's music before bed:)
Sunday we cleaned up a bit, went to Chinese buffet for lunch, watched some tv, napped and played the day away.
Today was INSANE at work, but I managed to get this beauty booked for our girls weekend in June!! Can't wait!
where is that place? looks like when we went to Fiddler Lake!
ReplyDeletelike 15 mins outside of the village in Tremblant :) Probably pretty similar though! Same kind of area for sure...I think they're even close?? I could be wrong lol
