Oh Canada..

I think Canada is trying to cook us...these last few days...wow. Last week I was knocked on my butt with a killer cold--Thursday and Friday were spent in an ocean of kleenex and blankets, which submerging myself 100% into Gossip Girl. I am totally addicted. I don't think my brain can function right now without an episode playing in the background. I made it through all of season 1 (18 episodes) in those two days and 5 more episodes over the course of the weekend of season 2 (which has like 26 episodes). G went to daycare those two days--and now, as a mother, I find I get bored alot when I'm alone. Like what on EARTH did I spend my time doing before G??? By noon, I would be so sick of just laying down that I made it through 5 rooms in my house of sorting/huge riddances. I did the spare room (closet, armoire, did the bedsheets, washed the curtains), Garett's room (cleaned out his dresser, moved some stuff around, cleaned out his closet, washed his curtains and bedding), Ba...

One of those days...

I've been trying my best lately to be a more positive, optimistic person. I always considered myself to be a realist--I don't get overly happy about things until they happen, and I don't get mad about things until I have a real reason to be--but I want to be one of those eternal optimists, so I'm trying--also, I have had enough of some negative people around, and I don't want to slide down that slippery slope and be like them. Life is more satisfying with rose-coloured glasses then spent rolling your eyes or being a nay-sayer. I have been doing so good--but then this morning. Oh, this morning. The few hours of life lately that I have just wanted to give up, go home, hop into bed and sleep the day away. I woke up and my throat was so sore--Am I catching the cold going around the office? Me--nahhh, I'll push through and go in, it's a beautiful day. Get ready--stop dead traffic for almost every exit when I near the city. Hour long drive to work--stalled car ...

Rainy Day in the Capital

Look at me! 2 days in a row!!*Warning this post is incredibly random* Days like this get me feeling so tired and gloomy. Tyler is home from work today, taking a break with the wet weather, so him and G were sleeping in today--like it wasn't hard enough to drag my butt out of bed, it's overcast and rainy. The rain held off mostly for my drive in, and now it's just pouring down. I had a plan to walk to the grocery store up the road for lunch today, but I suppose the cafe downstairs will do :) Ty has a few estimates to go do tonight, so I will finally have a moment to relax when I get home and actually think for longer than 2 minutes about what to make for dinner, before I get a cranky hungry toddler and a husband asking "What's for dinner?". Last night was beautiful weather. When G woke up from his nap, we all went outside. I tossed up a salad, made some green beans with pancetta and we bbq'd some chicken and put some homemade guacamole on top..pretty g...

I don't even feel sorry for how far between (and how rarely) I write anymore. Blogging is something I do for fun--when I have downtime. As of late, I haven't had any--we have been too busy having fun outside! Life is so good right now, I just want to breathe it in and let it take over. You see, I have this little boy who LOVES to be outside. It's his favourite thing. Not only does he love outside, he loves the water, so we have to take advantage of every ounce of warm/sunlight we get! Since I have been away too long, I won't even bother going back into what I have missed writing about. Girls weekend in Tremblant won't even get it's own post, mostly because that was spent voiceless, enjoying the sun and a few adult refreshments--I took barely any pictures, so I will just leave it at that :) This past weekend started off on a bit of a sour note--Friday we came home, Rod and Sharon came over for dinner, and we discovered "ew the carpet is soaked...
