Oh Canada..
I think Canada is trying to cook us...these last few days...wow.
Last week I was knocked on my butt with a killer cold--Thursday and Friday were spent in an ocean of kleenex and blankets, which submerging myself 100% into Gossip Girl. I am totally addicted. I don't think my brain can function right now without an episode playing in the background. I made it through all of season 1 (18 episodes) in those two days and 5 more episodes over the course of the weekend of season 2 (which has like 26 episodes).
G went to daycare those two days--and now, as a mother, I find I get bored alot when I'm alone. Like what on EARTH did I spend my time doing before G??? By noon, I would be so sick of just laying down that I made it through 5 rooms in my house of sorting/huge riddances. I did the spare room (closet, armoire, did the bedsheets, washed the curtains), Garett's room (cleaned out his dresser, moved some stuff around, cleaned out his closet, washed his curtains and bedding), Bathroom (cleaned out all the cupboards and scrubbed it all down), Master bedroom (cleaned out both night stands, both dressers, went through Ty's clothes, put my winter stuff away and organized everything), the living room (moved furniture around, cleaned up) and caught up on all the laundry, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned the garage a bit, washed the patio furniture off---then. Gossip girl. hahaha
Salvation Army is gonna love this momma pretty soon!
Saturday G and I met Ty in Orleans after his quick paintball game in the morning. We went into town to get G some more onesies and a new pair of running shoes, since I think his others are too small now. Had lunch at Mucho Burrito (first time we didn't really enjoy it)and headed home to soak up the AC for a bit, then did some work in the yard and then I ran out to grab a few things at the grocery store. Was an early night for us!
Sunday we got up early--Ty swept the lawn again and then we went out for breakfast at the local restaurant. We went home after for G's nap (Gossip Girl time) and went out after that on a quick Tim's run and out to see two houses. They were on the same street and were the same style outside--totally different inside--and we left both feeling more in love with our own home. I have a big list of "to see" houses--these were at the bottom of the list--and now they are just off the list completely. I didn't realise these houses were 3+1 bedrooms--which is an instant no-go I think. We have that now...we NEED 4 bedrooms upstairs. Not too too much work inside, but I just got depressed when I saw the yards. Where does G run around? Where do we put the pool? Where do we play hide and seek after school? These houses could not grow with our family, so would have been a poor investment for us. They did have a few features we liked--so we popped those into our memory bank of our dream home checklist, and went home to soak up more AC and cuddle on the couch of our beautiful home lol Once G woke up from his nap, we went and played out in the hot weather (he's lucky we love him). He had so much fun splashing around and kept wanting us to spray him with the hose haha. Such a cutie.

We had wanted to do our "June Date" this weekend, but with the heat, we just couldn't justify it--it can wait for July :)(Yes we still do our date days--I just never blog anymore apparently. And I kind of like keeping them to just me and Ty. People don't always need to know everytime we step out together as a couple lol)
Today I got to work and NONE of the lights were on. They had also shut the A/C off all weekend...I told myself if the lights didn't come on and it didn't cool down in an hour, I would go home...I jinxedd it--it's cooler now..and the lights are on. Darn it! haha oh well--off tomorrow :) Canada Day knows just when I need a break. Thank you, Canada!!
Not much on the go today here--I think everyone had the genius idea to take today off and make an extra long weekend--but I would rather save it for when I have something going on :)I cannot believe June is pretty well over--where the heck is the time going?!?!?
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and hope you have exciting plans for Canada Day! As for us? We are heading to a splash pad and then maybe some other fun stuff as a family :)
