Things that annoy me

Most days I am a very understanding person.  I haven't always had the patience of a Saint, but since I had Garett I've calmed down a lot and learned to go with the ebb and flow of things in life. However, there are some things that as soon as I see or hear, it sends me into a fit of rage, and I can feel all the blood rushing to my ears. 1) Sentences that start with "Do you mind if..." or "Can you do me a quick favor" when you see I am clearly in the middle of something. I would never interrupt someone's lunch to ask them a "favor" which is usually code word for something that's REALLY inconvenient. I would never ask someone if they mind anything when there are mounds of paperwork flying around their office. No. Just no. Go away. 2) Lunch hour meetings. Lunch and Learns. Lunch and anything that doesn't involve me laughing so hard that drink shoots out my nostrils. I hate when my lunch time gets taken away from me. That's MY time ...

Weekend Recap

After we came back from our trip on Wednesday evening, we were pooped. I wanted to get some normalcy back into G's life, so we were in bed pretty early after a very long day. Around 3AM G-man woke up calling out for mommy. I went in, changed his diaper and sat beside his bed rubbing his back a bit. He fell asleep again as soon as I walked in, but I sat there for a bit so he knew I was there. Thursday was a very low-key day. We went to the grocery store for a few things, did lots of laundry, dishes, etc. Another early-to-bed night. Another night of him waking around midnight calling for me. In  I went for a few minutes again. Friday I sent him to daycare to try and get back into his routine there. He howled so loud when I tried to leave, I just about put him back in the car and hugged him forever. I felt SO awful. I did NOT want to leave him, but I knew it would be more detrimental if I sheltered him one more day. I needed to be able to go back to work with a sound mind that h...

Dominican Recap- Part 2

OSo like I said before, we were anxiously awaiting Rod and Sharon--we were stalking the front desk, asking if the plane had arrived, asking where they were--I'm sure reception was VERY happy when they arrived. We were waiting around the corner to pop out at them, but instead they walked them over to the Preferred Guest Check in, so we ran through the resort, trying to cut them off on the path, but still got stuck behind them. They turned around and were very happy to see some familiar faces :) We waited with them while they checked in and visited for a while. We walked down the beach so Rod could buy some stogies and sunglasses, and we showed them our spot where we like to swim in the ocean. We then grabbed a few drinks and some lunch at the Seaside Grill. We hung out tanning and swimming and eventually got ready for dinner. We ate at the French Cuisine A-la-carte and it was spectacular! Their welcome dish was a cheese and nut tray (yum!). I started with the French onion soup (I ...

Dominican Recap- Part 1

On Tuesday March 17, which is better known to most as the biggest party day of the year, I was in the car, headed to Cornwall after a long day at work to drop my boy off for a week. The good-bye was not easy. I may or may not have cried the entire hour drive home. "What's he doing now?", I thought. "Does he already miss me?," I said in a crackly voice over the music I was playing to try and pump me up. I had never been less excited for a vacation in my life. We went home and finished our last minute packing, waited for Amber to arrive and had a Malibu Rum and Pineapple juice (with a splash of OJ) to help calm our nerves and help us sleep. The hours passed and we were still not sleeping...I probably got a total of 3 hours of sleep that night. The alarm went off at 2:40 or so and it was up and at 'em. I was a zombie. I threw on my capris, a tank top and a pull over. Zipped up my winter coat and we loaded our stuff into the trunk. We rolled into the Pa...

29 before 29 update

Update: -          Spend an entire day being pampered : I completed this on March 15 when I went for a mani, lunch and a pedi. I think this is as close to a full day of pampering I will get due to time restraints. -          Attend at least one festival during festival season  -          Watch an outdoor concert (these are my favourite) :  to go to shania twain or not ? Or wait for blues fest:) -          Go to the drive in: July to do list -          Read 10 books  I read the book Heaven is for Real ,Fault in our Stars, and am working on Gone Girl -          Cook 1 meal totally outside my comfort zone : completed on February 14. I made a meal of all new recipes I generally wou...

Seriously though...

7.5 more sleeps ! (I only count the sleep on the 17th as half a sleep since I have to be up at like 3am to be at the airport for 4am and will be too excited to sleep after a stressful day at work and a long drive to and from cornwall)...I could just hammer that down to actually 7 more sleeps, I guess haha. I am ALL packed. Aside from my phone and chargers and exchanging of money at the bank. Tyler, not so much. He hasn't started and it's freaking me out. So I packed his toiletries for him this weekend. So he has a pathetic shaving kit sitting in his suitcase WITH NOTHING ELSE. You guys, this seriously bothers me. For someone so attentive and punctual, how can he put off packing with only a week to spare!!!!? (I know I'm the irrational one, since packing will literally take him 15 minutes. It's just not the same for men). I am successfully thinning out our house of crap I never use. I feel good. This weather makes me want to stay home ALL day EVERY day and air out t...

Unexpected Weekend

This weekend I really thought I was going to be locked up inside, bored. Friday night Tyler had to work until close at his store, so I knew it would be later. He got home around 10, which isn't too bad considering sometimes games run until midnight. Saturday Ty had to go in in the morning for a bit, but said he would be home by 5 or 6. Our friends Casey and Shannon, and their daughter Rylie decided to come over for a visit, and Ty came home earlier so he could be there. Our friends Rod and Sharon texted as well to see what we were up to--they wanted to chat with us. So they came over as well. We just sat around chatting--the boys watched the game. The kids slept. It was great. Rod and Sharon dropped a bomb on us--telling us they will be joining us in Dominican. We are thrilled!! Totally unexpected, and even more positive swing on the trip! We go on Weds the 18th (16 days!!) and they will join us on sat the 21. Should be one for the record books :) The boys were in bed prett...
