Weekend Recap
After we came back from our trip on Wednesday evening, we were pooped. I wanted to get some normalcy back into G's life, so we were in bed pretty early after a very long day.
Around 3AM G-man woke up calling out for mommy. I went in, changed his diaper and sat beside his bed rubbing his back a bit. He fell asleep again as soon as I walked in, but I sat there for a bit so he knew I was there.
Thursday was a very low-key day. We went to the grocery store for a few things, did lots of laundry, dishes, etc. Another early-to-bed night. Another night of him waking around midnight calling for me. In I went for a few minutes again.
Friday I sent him to daycare to try and get back into his routine there. He howled so loud when I tried to leave, I just about put him back in the car and hugged him forever. I felt SO awful. I did NOT want to leave him, but I knew it would be more detrimental if I sheltered him one more day. I needed to be able to go back to work with a sound mind that he wouldn't be too devastated. I told the babysitter to call me if he didn't calm down. He finally let go of my neck when she offered him to have some cereal and put food in the dogs dish. :( He had a good day though, and I got lots of cleaning done and went and bought some new clothes for him in town, and did the big grocery trip. It was another early night, since G didn't nap for more than 20 minutes at daycare.
Saturday we were up bright and early playing and doing crafts. Garett napped for 3 hours and I caught up a bit on The Mindy Project Season 3. When he got up, we loaded up the car and went to visit daddy at the Home and Garden Show. He was happy to see us and G was happy to see him. We walked around for a bit. Garett was quite taken with a number of displays (There was a big rhino, a big stuffed dog, lots of fresh flowers and a big robot mascot, who he yelled BYE ROBOT to about a hundred times haha). We left the show and him and I had a DQ date on the way home. We did some painting and had a bath before dinner and it was early to bed again!
Sunday was Ty's last day at the homeshow, so I wanted to have a fun last day with G, so in the morning we played and read books and watched tv before his other three hour nap. Then we went outside and played for an hour. I pushed him in his red car, on his trike, we built snow castles, played hockey and I took him for a walk in his wagon. He had a blast. We came inside, had some lunch and then we set up our egg dying station. I got distracted when I was mixing the dye and vinegar with water and put too much water in each batch, so they look like pastel eggs instead of vibrant ones lol (and they don't take the dye as well to begin with because I bought those fake cardboard/paperish eggs). But we had a lot of fun, regardless. We cooked dinner and ate it while waiting for daddy to come home. G and daddy played a bit while I had a nice bath and laid out mine and G's clothes for today.
Back to reality today--I drove into work in the snow, and came in to a FULL mailbox. It was beyond capacity and I couldn't even send messages out until I cleared out 500 emails. It was a long day.
