I need a break after this weekend. I am just so run down and tired, I legitimately fell asleep standing up this morning. But enough of that, here's what we did this weekend: Friday night Ty was home early and we made some delicious beef tenderloin steaks on the cast iron pan. I made a lemon pepper seasoned veggie stir fry and some butter herb mini roasted potatoes and sautéed onions , garlic and mushrooms to top off the steaks . It was so good.   It was a pretty early evening for everyone, which meant a very early morning. I made a big egg, sausage and hashbrown breakfast for the boys and we lounge around for a while, until we went outside. The boys cleaned out and washed the truck, while Keira and I played with bubbles and chalk and sprayed water.  The neighbours came over and had a beer and used his chainsaw to help finish cutting down our tree, since my brother in law still has ours. We cleaned up the waste from that and went in t...

Weekend at a glance

oh my God. This week....I can't say I'm sad to see it go. It started out so well. The kids were angels, we were getting full nights sleep still, long naps, the house was spotless. Flash forward to today. The house is a disaster again, and Keira had two days of not so great naps, and one night of terrible sleep. Last night was infinitely better, but I am SO so tired. It was so bad the other night , that ty texted me the following morning saying "thank you for everything you do" because he knew how much I had to get up , and that everytime it took me 20 mins to get her back to sleep lol. Anyways, things are going much better now, and we are looking forward to another fun weekend :) I bought some really nice Filet Mignons for dinner tonight and made up a container of veggies to stir fry with leftover chicken (zucchini, cauliflower , peppers, broccoli, carrots). I also washed some potatoes , sliced them, and wrapped them up with some garlic and butter and paprika. S...

Tuesday thoughts

- I love the warm weather. I don't love the storms that 40 degrees brings. I would be happy with a constant 28 degree summer, because I do not like when the tornado warnings happen! -we took my SUV to  Orillia on the weekend, and I just got the 5,000km mark on my odometer. I've had the Edge since Sept 24--coming up on a year. I think I'm pretty easy on my vehicles haha. Add that to the list of things I don't miss about living out of town. - Keira must be in a growth spurt. Particularly yesterday. She had two of those baby food pouches of fruit and veggie mixes, then half of one that had chicken and noodles also, then she had some yogurt drops, an entire banana, ate half of a cob of corn (right off the cob! Lol ), a big piece of ham, cubed up, some rice, a piece of toast with butter, a cup of water and her bottles before nap and bed. She ate more than I did ! Lol she also napped much better than she had been. So maybe that step up in food intake is helping. - Gas w...

Toto-lly awesome weekend recap

Image
This was a self proclaimed long weekend for Tyler and I. Daycare was closed on Friday, so we got a lot of playing done early. Tyler's aunt and mom came around 12:30 , and we loaded up the car and hit the road after saying goodbye.  First, we stopped for some Lebanese meat and cheese pies for the road There was so much traffic leaving the city, the stop and go was making me feel car sick. I was so happy when we hit the open road! The ride up seemed quite long (it was about 4.5 hours ). We were thrilled to have finally arrived   This was the view of the hotel and the casino from the outside Tyler got us all checked in as I waited with the bags, and snapped a few pictures. We were on the 4th floor (out of 9, in a corner room). It was nice! I appreciated that each room is a suite, since we spent a lot of time in there (though if it had been a small room, we probably would have spent a fortune i...

Thoughts on Thursday

1) this weather, though. *insert heart eyes here* I feel so energized and excited and motivated and eager when this weather starts rolling around PLEASE, please keep it around for the long haul ! 2) if I called any of Garett's food "a snack" instead of breakfast, lunch , or supper, he will eat the entire portion, and usually ask for more. Why? I have no idea, but I don't really care, because he eats like 30% more now than he was, and a little meat on his bones is really necessary right now, he's looking mighty skinny. 3)When my house lives in a state of toy mess, it stresses me out. But , it can wait. Because what stresses me out more is cleaning the toys up every 20 seconds , and getting worked up when they get messy again! 4) I am so excited for our weekend away. Tomorrow night we have reservations at a steakhouse people wait months and months for a seat in. I got us in far enough in advance , but it's a 9:30Pm sitting because even months in advance, t...

Weekend recap and photo dump

Image
Friday night , we were in bed early. I decided to have a hot bath and a somersby. Unfortunately, I dumped most of it down the drain because Garett got up a hundred times because he was too excited for the weekend, lol. Oh well.  Lots of playtime in for this little girl before bed! Saturday, we were up bright and early, packed up and on our way to Brockville. . We started the day off by touring around an old neighborhood on the way into town. Then we took the scenic route to the Aquatarium. We spent a few hours here, and watched the otter feeding. Garett had so much fun here. We bought a big stuffed otter, a magnet (g collects them from everywhere he's been), a bunch of semi precious stones for gs rock collection , he also used one of those old token makers, where you put the money in and it flattens a dime and stamps a picture in for you! He had never seen one before.   Afterwards , we stopped at Buds on ...
