Weekend Recap
I legitimately did almost NOTHING this weekend, and it was AMAZING. One more quiet weekend before we leave. The way I see it is: a night out--paying a sitter, food, drinks, ubers--it costs so much money, so I would rather save that and put it towards another excursion, since the once I WANT to go on are like $250USD/person. Tyler's probably freaked out by me being the one that's like "no, let's not go out tonight" lol Usually he's the voice of reason!
Friday was a playday at Garett's school, so he was POOPED when he got home. We were all pretty tired, so we didn't cook our fancy Friday night dinner. Garett requested pizza (UGHHHH), so we ordered from Tony's around the corner and everyone else had pizza, and I ordered a different platter. We watched a bit of Hercules with dinner, and then it was baths and bed for the kids! I was exhausted also, and took a bath and was in bed by 8:30, so Tyler went and played some video games and came up around 11.
The kids were up around 6:30, and so I took them downstairs and fed them breakfast #1 lol. Tyler got Garrett's stuff ready and they headed out to basketball (only one more left now WOOT). They ate breakfast #2 when they got home, and then my sister and I went to get our eyelash extensions done ( I LOVE THEM). It took a little longer than I had anticipated (I was STARVING). When she hit the road, I ate a quick sandwich and Tyler got ready to head out. He was playing a surprise 50th at Orchardview with the Disco band--he was pretty excited because there were lots of well-known people there, so his nerves were running a little high. The kids and I ordered in some east side marios (our go-to when daddy's gone), ate, played, did baths and then made a little blanket bed on the floor in my room and put on "Inside Out". We watched about 45 minutes of it and little miss Keira was falling asleep, so I put her to bed. Once she was squared away, Garett was begging to start building the big Minecraft Lego set my sister got him for his birthday, so we built bag one and he was falling asleep, so I took him to bed--at 7:45.
So I caught up on some Kardashians, and then my big plans of watching ALL OF THE SHOWS was foiled when I fell asleep at 9:30. Oops :) I woke sporadically until Tyler got home around 1:15.
The kids were up at 6:15 on Sunday, so I brought them downstairs and fed them so Tyler could sleep in a bit. He woke up around 8, and we played a bit, and then I went upstairs. I scrubbed both upstairs bathrooms from top to bottom and organized our walk in closet finally. I tidied up the kids rooms and gave upstairs a quick vacuum. When I was done, my MIL and Tyler's Aunt, who are watching the kids when we go away, came over for a quick breakfast #2 and visit to get a run down of all the stuff for the kids.
When they left, Keira went for a nap, and Garett and I finished building his Lego set (this is the first time he insisted on following the instructions all by himself, so he was SO proud of it). Tyler went out to run our errands and he grabbed Casey and went and picked up our new toy LOL. I found the coolest thing on one of the Orleans groups I'm in. It's a retro piece--it lights up in the bottom, speakers on top, and has a record player, radio, 8-track player and cassette player in it. We also grabbed a ton of 8-tracks, and the kids danced around ALL evening. They love it. And garett loves that the buttons are so easy to use. He feels like a DJ now lol.
It was another fast evening. We made dinner together and again, baths and bed!
The kids were in bed early again, so we watched a bunch of Parenthood before we went to sleep around 10.
Back to reality today, up bright and early to make Garett's lunch, feed him breakfast and we were all out the door by 7. I was so early to work today, and want to catch up on EVERYTHING this week so that on Monday before I leave for my trip, I can bail out early.
