Catch-up: Birthdays!
This summer we are having; I tell you it has NOT slowed down, and I feel like we are just always running around and never at home!
I can't really remember where I left off , other than it was the long weekend in August.
Since then, we attended my mother in laws birthday. Started out at her house, and then we all went over to Montana's for dinner. The service is always SO slow, they always feed the kids last, and I haven't exactly been blessed with kids that love sitting down at a restaurant lol. My food was good (Tyler's was not), and I was happy to get out of there! lol
Earlier that morning, Garett attended his friend Marcus's Sonic the Hedgehog themed birthday party. It was at Marcus's grandparents house (our friends Rod and Sharon/Garett's godparents), so they did a bbq, lots of swimming , cake and a piƱata. He was pooped. Garett picked out a set of Sonic figurines off Amazon for Marcus, and they were a hit,
On Sunday August 12, it was Keira's birthday party (she turned 2 on August 10, and I missed the boat on my blog, but I posted a sweet picture and message for her everywhere else). I only have pictures of the event on my Rebel, but here is what I captured (LOL)...ONE picture after her party of the kids playing with the giant paint brushes/liquid chalk that my MIL bought.
The following week consisted of house after house. We got wind that the inflation rate has reached 3%, which usually indicates that interest rates are going to go up again, so we decided that was it. No more waiting. We were moving. House after house. Bickering, crying, time away from work...NOTHING was right.
But then...after the last massive failure of a house. Postage stamp yard, cut up floor plan with renos galore to be done, and being expected to spend half a million dollars that very second or else it would sell for 60k over asking price an hour later? That's some kind of stress I don't need in my life.
Our realtor (who is a very good friend of ours), had showed us a house that was briefly on the market earlier in the year. They had pulled it down because of issues with their realtor, and they had missed the date on turning soil on their new property. He had, the prior night, approached the owners and asked if they would be willing to let us go through. 18 hours later, we were in their house negotiating the sale. We played in the 2 acre yard with their dogs, and let our realtor work his magic.
An hour later, we were at our realtor/friends house doing up the paperwork. The deposit was given, inspections were done two days later, and we are just waiting to waive our last condition of the water sample! More photos to come, but Garett loves our forever property. Closing date : October 12.
We then went to celebrate my mom's birthday in Cornwall. We got a nice long visit in, and it was nice for all the kids to play. We went for Brunch, and back to the house for cake and more food. They sent home Keira's other birthday gift, and since it was so gloomy for a few nights, the kids got impatient, so I opened it up and let them have fun on their new inflatable /washable easel.
Now here we are, in a new week that's almost over already. Tonight is groceries, cleaning and PACKING galore. Tomorrow we are off bright and early to the cottage for 4 days and three nights of fun/relaxation with another couple and their daughter (our realtor--who will be nice to have in our sight at all times haha).
Once we come back, I have a half day off of work to get Garett registered at his new school, and to meet up with two kids from his new class for a playdate. This is helping keep both of our anxieties at bay!
I have also started a list of things we need to get rid of before the move. SO much purging :) I love it. It's my catharsis.
Happy Friday Eve to everyone! And have a wonderful weekend :)
