Cottage Life
Friday morning around 11:30, we headed out. We stopped for a quick bite at Mcdonalds for a car picnic on the way, and both kids took a small nap.
Soon enough we were in White Lake at the Bayview Lodge. This is the place that Garett comes alive. He is definitely a country boy and extreme wilderness lover.
It took all of two seconds before the kids dug into the big Rubbermaid of activities I collect and pack.
We played HARD until our friends arrived around 5PM, just in time for dinner.
Windy day activities
Beach fun

We made some spaghetti, with homemade meat sauce and garlic knots for dinner, and then had a bonfire and made reese's pieces smores. Kids were in bed around 8PM, and then we had a few drinks around the fire.
The kids were up at 6:30 on Saturday ready to GO. Garett and Tyler loaded up his new tackle box, and Garett learned how to cast on his BIG rod. Needless to say, that was it for him. He was pretty much fishing the rest of the weekend.
We did a lot of running around on Saturday--up and down all of the paths, in the big fields, play ground, beach, pool, and went for some ice cream before dinner. I warmed up some of our homemade chili we brought, and put out some bread, cheese and sour cream. I made some Naan bread pizzas for the kids with zucchini, pepperoni, olives, onions, and cheese.
After the kids went to bed at 7:45, we sat out by the water with a beer and had some more snacks later on. We got a lot of visiting done, and met a few people coming off their boats in the evening.
Sunday was our last full day. We went out on the boat ALOT. Garett learned how to take the controls for a few minutes here and there, and felt like such a big boy when he got to troll around on the boat.
Keira wanted in on the action (just for the photo op though, no real driving for her)
Garett practiced his chess skills (he actually is really good)
Kids all went tubing. Older kids got to go FAST, Keira got to go VERY slow. She was crying to go on it, so momma bear loosened the reigns a bit and said only if she was being held and we went very slow. She kept throwing her hands in the air, yelling "WEE" and for TJ to drive faster. Nope lol
On the last night, we just bbq'd hamburgers and had a picnic. I wish I had gotten more pictures from the weekend, but there was just a lot of fun little moments I didn't have my phone handy. We caught endless frogs, watched a couple water snakes go by, built a ton of sand creatures and adorned them with snail shells, ate ice cream from the shop every day, sometimes twice a day, and explored every inch of land we could.
When we got back on Monday, we were all wiped right out. We went to bed EARLY and slept in on Tuesday.
Back to reality on Tuesday. But I booked off work from 1:30 onwards, and picked up Garett early. We went to his new school to transfer him over, and stopped into the new daycare also to get his registration package. We got a tour of the school, and the run down on the kindergarten area. They have EIGHT new SK's registered, so Garett was feeling a little better. And then we went to the barbers, and then headed to Provence Park and met up with another mom and little girl that will be in his grade next week. They hit it off and played for over an hour, had a snack together and we went home to a quick and easy dinner, baths and bed!
Omg I love their faces!
