Bathroom update

Image
We have made a little more progress on the house. It's slow going, but everything we are doing has been well thought out to reflect changes I will be happy with for a while to come (until redecorating urges a few years from now lol) Main bathroom BEFORE Main Bathroom AFTER While the baseboards and doors, ceiling and walls have gotten a fresh coat of paint, and décor has been added, we still have work to do in this room to finish it off. The floors are a vinyl stick on type floor, and I find them to be horrible looking, and for it to be a bit unsanitary to have a vinyl floor (porous) in a bathroom. So once we are ready to get to ceramic work, here is what I have selected. For the floor: A glazed porcelain "hardwood" looking floor Currently, the walk-in stand-up shower has hotel looking tiles (little square tiles all over the ceiling, walls and floor) I want to change it to larger/lighter tiles: I think one of the reasons I hate t...

Thursday Thoughts

Not a whole lot interesting going on in my life lately! -Last night I did a big grocery run, but still feels like we don't have ALOT. How can $275 translate to a still partially empty fridge?  I also stopped for gas, and appreciate the price of gas right now :) -I grabbed some quick food on the way home (was 6:30 by the time I got home last night), and ate that. I bought extra because I assumed the kids and Tyler would want something more to nibble on since they ate at 4:30. -I ordered all of the lunch lady lunches for the rest of the school year! Still waiting for the new Milk Program and Pizza Day items to be released on the school cash online. - Garett's birthday decorations arrived yesterday, and my travel sized shampoos and stuff. Checking things off the list and starting to feel on top of things again. -Did a bit of work on my laptop sitting in bed watching "Instant Hotel" last night after the kids went to bed. -Ty went into work around 1AM this morn...

Rooms in progress

Things have been busy all-around with work for Ty and I, the holidays, upcoming birthday planning, social events, etc etc. But we have tried to carve out a bit of time to start all of the small projects we need to complete on the house. We started with the one that is easiest: PAINTING lol When we get into flooring and tiles and stuff, it's a little more time/labour intensive. We will get there when things calm down (do they ever calm down? lol) FYI: These are all works in progress. Zero of the spaces in my house are completed 100% yet MASTER BEDROOM: before: it was a weird colour. It looks quite nice in the pictures, but it was more of a greenish grey and I found it very drab and depressing. During the painting process: Dry- repositioned furniture in the room and it seems bigger now in person Left to do: New light fixture, new bed and bedding, carpet, hanging artwork. We have since installed an electric fireplace on the far wall, but we need somethin...

Christmas Recap

Image
The craziness began on December 21 for us. The teacher/daycare provider gifts were sent, we were all done shopping and ready to go, but this day marked the Christmas Party at Keira's daycare. All the kids and their parents went at 4:00 for snacks and gift opening. Garett got a little something too since he used to attend. We were home by 6:00ish, had a quick something for dinner and were off to bed. On the 22nd and 23rd, we were busy getting stuff together for the potluck at my work on Christmas eve, and wrapping all of the gifts that had finally arrived for a select few people I work with. On Christmas Eve, I let Ty sleep in and I got the kids ready and got to work around 8:30. There was a quick potluck and we played in my office a bit, and walked around to talk to people. I left around 10:30 to get home. The kids had fun, but I really dislike the idea of my kids running around in a place of work, so it was short lived lol That evening, we headed to Tyler...
