Rooms in progress
Things have been busy all-around with work for Ty and I, the holidays, upcoming birthday planning, social events, etc etc. But we have tried to carve out a bit of time to start all of the small projects we need to complete on the house. We started with the one that is easiest: PAINTING lol When we get into flooring and tiles and stuff, it's a little more time/labour intensive. We will get there when things calm down (do they ever calm down? lol)
FYI: These are all works in progress. Zero of the spaces in my house are completed 100% yet
MASTER BEDROOM:
before: it was a weird colour. It looks quite nice in the pictures, but it was more of a greenish grey and I found it very drab and depressing.
During the painting process:
Dry- repositioned furniture in the room and it seems bigger now in person
Left to do: New light fixture, new bed and bedding, carpet, hanging artwork. We have since installed an electric fireplace on the far wall, but we need something else on the wall also.
GARETT'S ROOM:
They had a plain builders type beige paint in here, and horrible curtain rods. That wardrobe though is amazing!
Once Garett's furniture was put in:
We painted it a blue colour, put his new rod up, blackout panels, changed his theme to "Sharks", put in a rug, and hung a wall decal.
Still need: New light fixture, more on the walls, carpet (the floors in his room are laminate and I dislike that).
KEIRA'S ROOM
They had that same builders beige in here (looks yellow though), and a super heavy murphy bed installed (I can attest to how heavy it was because I pulled my back out helping with the removal).
Once the murphy bed was out, this is Keira's furniture in there. Lovely holes in the walls.
They had a rod across the entire side wall and curtains.
We painted it a light pink :)
I put up a new curtain rod with her grey blackout panels, put up some heart decals, put in a new grey area rugNew bedding also
TOY ROOM:
They had this HIDEOUS green. It actually looks bad but not horrendous in the picture. It was the most offensive colour to look at , and I personally never wanted to be in this room.
We painted it "Cathedral Glass", which is like a blue/teal colour. It looks a bit darker in the picture, but it is 100% of an improvement. We also shampooed the carpets twice and now they seem like new. We keep the door closed so the pets can't go in here anymore.
