Life Lately

As per the norm, things have been crazy on the work front for us, home front, and just all around keeping up with life! I will say, if it was any other way, I wouldn't know what to do with myself lol.
On the weekend of Garett's birthday, we had a bunch of family and friends over to celebrate this big SIX year old. He had an "army" type party-so just a bunch of camo things, tank balloons, etc A good time was had by all (I think lol)

After everyone left, Ty and G played some tic tac toe and checkers while I de-birthdayed and cleaned up.

Ty had a rehearsal on Jan 31 (also it was his 36th birthday), so we ran home and I made a special dinner (mandarin orange chicken, rice and salad). Then he rushed out, and I brought miss Keira to our friends/neighbours and they played while I took Garett to Beavers.

The princess threw up this night because she ate too much (dinner at our house, at dinner with brin, an apple, a small brownie, two cheese strings and some cucumbers). It's a good thing she knows when to stop eating (not).

Friday night, we didn't do much. Hot tub and relaxed in the evening.

Saturday I spent the entire day in the kitchen between baking a cake, prepping for dinner, cooking meals for the kids and snacks in between. I was pooped by the time everyone showed up lol. My mother in law and her sister came for a short time (the weather was not great), my sister and brother in law and my nephew came for dinner also (chicken fajitas).

Our friends/neighbours popped in for about 30 minutes at the end of the night (like 9:00) and we were off to bed directly after that.

Sunday was a lazy day for me. I cleaned the house up after the night before, caught up on laundry, changed all the bed sheets, and keira tried on her summer dresses to see what still fits. This was her favourite as we watched "Coco"-fitting since we bought it for her last year in Mexico :)

Tyler and Garett loaded up and headed into our friends house for a Superbowl gathering. They played outside and inside and ate and all that fun stuff. Keira and I stayed behind and she napped from 1:00-5:00, when I woke her up lol.
The boys got home around 7:00, everyone was in bed by 8:30. We restarted Life in Pieces and fell asleep to that around 10:30.

None of the school busses here were cancelled this morning, and  the roads  were all good (except for the roads surrounding my house lol).

Tomorrow night, Tyler and Garett are off to a hockey game (our insurance company gave us 100-level tickets for Ty's birthday, but I can't make it to that on weeknights and G LOVES to go now).

Wednesday I will need to find time to grab groceries, or I won't get a chance again until Friday.

Thursday Tyler has another rehearsal, so I will have to bring Garett to Beavers again, since they are hard at work on their First Aid badge.

Saturday, Tyler has a gig at the Sens Gala (it's only a 1.5 hour set, so he won't be gone long and it only starts at 10PM).

I made my lists of things to pack for the kids, and myself. I ordered the last few things I need for them and myself; and somehow have 13 random orders I am waiting for lol OOPS.

I also ordered a huge load of lunch snacks from Amazon because it's cheaper. Nutrigrain bars, fruit pouches, granola bars, rice krispies, popcorn, soft drinks, pretzel crackers, goldfish, etc, etc, etc. I am telling you--buy that stuff on amazon! And if you subscribe, it's even cheaper!

I also ordered more pants for Garett since on zulily, since he is perpetually ripping holes in the knees of his pants, waiting on his ceiling light, more ice packs for lunches, makeup for me, a small little valentines day thing for Ty (a giant ferraro rocher with them all inside), etc. I have been doing a lot of shopping online recently, excited to not have to do it for a while.

On the upside: my ebates return total for January jumped to $18. My next cheque will be for a whopping $28! lol. But "free money" since I was buying that stuff anyways!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
