Life lately

This is just how life is (crazy). I've come to terms with it, and I am trying to embrace it as much as I can. It seems a lot easier in the summer months, though :) On Monday the 18th (going way back 10 days!), Garett had a dentist appointment, Tuesday I had a going away lunch for a colleague (we ordered in), and had to rush out to an appointment to change up our life insurance policies. The Wednesday, Tyler had to do some paperwork in the evening, Thursday was the homeshow (skipped Beavers because we were home too late). Friday I was off work, did errands, loaded up and headed to Wakefield for Girls Weekend winter edition. I went to Shannons and we loaded up her stuff, and moved my stuff into her car, we went to do a few more important (lcbo) errands, and grabbed lunch while we waited for the other girls to be ready to go. We arrived around 1. Here is where we stayed : https://www.cottagesincanada.com/23668 We proceeded to drink and eat and visit and then the power went off...

Busy Weekend Recap and week look ahead

We had a bit of an unexpected busy-ish weekend. I knew we had a few things on the go planned, but we ended up being out of the house for much of the weekend (not complaining lol). Friday after work, we decided to have an impromptu double date with our good friends TJ and Jami. We had bought each other gift cards (lol, great minds think alike) in advance of the NYE date, so we each had one to use up. It was good! We started with some bacon wrapped scallops and bruschetta, ordered a bottle of pinot noir to share with the table (sans pregnant Jami), and all had different steaks-Ty had the surf&turf, while I had a steak with red wine gravy, caramelized onions and sautéed Portobello mushrooms. Loaded baked potatoes and root veggies mix. We were all too full for dessert, but we had a Spanish coffee ...

Cancun, MX Feb 24-Mar 3 2019 RECAP

On Saturday February 23, we dropped the kids off at Shannon and Casey's house very quickly in the evening (around 6:00, I would say). We went home, ate a quick snack and were not long out of bed. We were up at 3:15 AM on Sunday to load up the truck, and head to the park and fly. Our plane was on time, and we headed to the de-icing bay. However, shortly after de-icing, the pilot came on the intercom and announced that the weather had taken a turn for the worse and we would be heading back to the gate to wait for a new flight schedule. We sat for a few minutes, and he came back and told us that the freezing rain has momentarily stopped, so we will deice the wings again quickly and get out before it starts again...and that's what we did. It was a bit of a bumpy take off (very) and the first 20 minutes or so until we reached altitude was bumpy. The seatbelt sign was on for the first 35-40 minutes and then it was a perfect flight, I even napped a bit! All in all, we...
