Life lately

This is just how life is (crazy). I've come to terms with it, and I am trying to embrace it as much as I can. It seems a lot easier in the summer months, though :)

On Monday the 18th (going way back 10 days!), Garett had a dentist appointment, Tuesday I had a going away lunch for a colleague (we ordered in), and had to rush out to an appointment to change up our life insurance policies. The Wednesday, Tyler had to do some paperwork in the evening, Thursday was the homeshow (skipped Beavers because we were home too late). Friday I was off work, did errands, loaded up and headed to Wakefield for Girls Weekend winter edition.

I went to Shannons and we loaded up her stuff, and moved my stuff into her car, we went to do a few more important (lcbo) errands, and grabbed lunch while we waited for the other girls to be ready to go.

We arrived around 1. Here is where we stayed : https://www.cottagesincanada.com/23668

We proceeded to drink and eat and visit and then the power went off around 9:30 PM. It started to get cold, so happy that we lit a fire early in the night! The Quebec Hydro site listed 1:15 AM as a restoration time. However, we set an alarm to wake us up at 1:15 and went to sleep around 11. When the alarm went off, the power was NOT on, so we went back to sleep. Around 3:30 AM ALL of the lights and electronics in the house came back on, so we got up, shut off the lights and went back to bed.

Saturday we were up around 8:30 I think, made a big breakfast and started in on a few drinks and played lots of movies on the Netflix (Step Brothers, I feel pretty and another one I can't remember). We eventually got into swimsuits and went out on the beautiful side deck and went in the hot tub for a while. Since Shan is pregnant and cant drink, she had a soak in the big tub and brought us two rounds of shots lol

We snacked some more, got ready and ended up driving  to Casey's gig in Low. We did not stay long at all, too bad because I was starting to feel good before we left, but the car ride home did me in. We put on the Fyre documentary and fell asleep at like 11:30pm lol

Sunday we were up a bit earlier, snacked a bit for breakfast and packed up all of our stuff. We were gone around 12, and back home at a decent time :) Dolly was at my house with my kids, and when I went to put keira for her nap, she headed out. Keira did not nap. So at least it was early to bed!

Monday was back to reality at work, and Tyler picked up his "new" toy. A 1994 mint condition mustang 5L, v8-white with black leather interior. He was pretty excited and blew through about half a tank of gas  driving around lol.

Tuesday evening, the boys were gone to the Sens game, but came home right before the third period because Garett was pretty sleepy.

Wednesday Tyler had his follow up allergy appointment to see if his shots work. Some allergies (grass, and most trees except for some type of tree that blooms in May) are gone. Cats are diminishing, but dog dander is still insanely high, so we have to get our vents cleaned, recarpet the basement rooms and all around rid the house of all of the dog remnants that we can't seem to get rid of.

Today is Beavers, and they are going to a firestation, so both boys are pretty excited lol!

Garett got his first Chapter book--I got him #1 of the series of the Bailey School Kids books--Vampires Don't Wear Polkadots. He LOVES it. I just introduced him to the movie Matilda, and he was so impressed by her reading chapter books. My freshly 6-year-old is on chapter 4 AND gets the jest of what's happening ...I can't even believe it lol

I want to do something fun with the kids this weekend, either just myself and the kids or with Ty--I feel like we haven't gotten a chance to just be alone with them doing something in a long time!

Hope everyone is doing well!! Happy Friday's eve
