Busy Weekend Recap and week look ahead
We had a bit of an unexpected busy-ish weekend. I knew we had a few things on the go planned, but we ended up being out of the house for much of the weekend (not complaining lol).
Friday after work, we decided to have an impromptu double date with our good friends TJ and Jami. We had a double date to Delicious Steakhouse in Orleans planned on New Years Eve, but it didn't work out that we were able to go, so we kept post poning. Well, we finally decided to go. We had bought each other gift cards (lol, great minds think alike) in advance of the NYE date, so we each had one to use up. It was good! We started with some bacon wrapped scallops and bruschetta, ordered a bottle of pinot noir to share with the table (sans pregnant Jami), and all had different steaks-Ty had the surf&turf, while I had a steak with red wine gravy, caramelized onions and sautéed Portobello mushrooms. Loaded baked potatoes and root veggies mix. We were all too full for dessert, but we had a Spanish coffee to cap off the evening. We headed home after (partiers, eh lol) and put Garett to bed (he was up still at 9:35pm), said goodbye to our friends and new sitter and went for a quick relax in the hot tub and off to bed.
Saturday the kids slept in until 8:30. We had planned to be in cornwall by 9AM, but the kids sleeping in threw us off a bit. So we packed everything up and headed out as soon as they woke up, instead. We got to cornwall around 10, and mom made us all some breakfast and we played and visited until lunch around 1. We headed out around 2:00 I would say, so we could avoid Keira napping there and making us late for the evening portion. She actually slept in the car on the way home (so did Garett--but he has always been keen on car napping). We headed straight to Orleans to get to my mother-in-laws house. We got together to have dinner for my sister in laws birthday. We ate, the kids played and we visited for a bit. We had to head home around 7 because little missy was getting cranky after only a 45 minute nap. We put them to bed as soon as we got home and watched some tv, Tyler played video games for like 20 minutes and we went to bed.
Sunday morning we had a big breakfast and cleaned up around the house a bit. I had to head to a babyshower for a friend in the afternoon in Gloucester, so I was gone for Keiras nap. I left the shower around 3:45 and headed to the grocery store and picked up some Tim Hortons kids meals and sandwich meals for an early dinner. We ate and the kids played outside for a bit. Before long it was snack and baths and off to bed!
Yesterday Garett had an appointment at the dentist for 8AM, to have his filling/tooth cap replaced since it fell off (I looked in his mouth the other day and freaked out thinking he broke one of his teeth so we made an urgent appointment where they looked in his mouth, and then made this appointment when it was obviously not urgent) He went to school after and showed me his built up tooth after. He said it feels like a "monster of a tooth" lol
Today, we have a life insurance appointment at 12:30-we have switched ours AND the kids, so we have to go in and sign some documents. Hoping to be back in the office by 1, since we are having a going away lunch gathering for a guy that works with us on travel and will go home to BC and work remotely.
Tyler is trading his Harley Sportster for a 1994 mustang that he's been eyeing up for a while. It's in mint condition. Though I'm not personally a fan of the body build on that years model, I am very happy for him that it is becoming a long-time dream fulfilled. We are working out the logistics of the contract for the trade and the handoff should happen soon :)
Beavers on Thursday, and I am off Friday, as a group of us girls are heading to a winter edition of our girls getaway. I am excited, though I am panicking a little about not having time to get everything I need! lol I haven't even made my packing list or even my to-buy list! I am hoping to take Garett to beavers on Thursday night and run to the superstore to get whatever, since I have discovered I don't have time to hit up Costco, like I originally planned lol.
