Super Long Weekend Fun

Thursday was both Garett's last day of Senior Kindergarten, and Keira's last day at Cindy's home daycare. It was a tough day for me. We handed out our presents, and had a little party.


Here they are on their last days:

On the Friday, I was off (it was a PD day for Garett, so I thought it would be fun to hang out with them and do something fun). Then Tyler ended up staying home, so he ate up a lot of the day lol But once I got Keira to sleep for nap, I took Garett in to town to play at the arcade/go see Secret Life of Pets 2 with his cousin, Bryson and his aunt :)

 I probably enjoyed it more than Garett. A few parts actually made me laugh out loud. Also do NOT hate the full on recliners they have.

After the movie, we had to go to the grocery store to pick up stuff for the weekend and the following week.

We changed Keira over to the "big girl bed" (her toddler bed conversion kit), and has been sleeping well in it!Fresh out of the bath, she saw it and was in love (hence the wet hair and lack of clothing).

Saturday, we did a ton of yardwork, and some cleaning inside the house. My sister and her husband and kids came to visit in the morning, then we watched our neighbours daughter while she went to get her back muscle sorted out. My sister in law came during Keira's nap, so the boys played outside, and Keira was ready to rumble around 4:30. We had a couple neighbours over, but nothing too crazy. Keira did not want to go to sleep, so she ended up being outside with us for fireworks and sparklers around 9:45. Last of the guests left around 12:15. We ate leftover Lebanese meat and cheese pies and went to sleep.

Sunday we were up bright and early. Packing some bags and playing outside. Once Keira woke from her nap, we headed over to our friends Rod and Sharon's house for the night. They have a pool and had a bouncy house, lots of yard games and we brought over another box of fireworks that we set off, and more sparklers (and invited the little neighbour girl and her parents over). Once the kids were in bed (girls early, boys much later), we played pool and listened to music and visited. We went to bed around 1:30 and slept only until 6 or so when the girls (Emma and Keira) woke the house up.

We made a big breakfast and lounged around for a bit before we headed home on Monday morning.

We put Keira for her nap and my sister in law picked up Garett to bring him to my mother in laws house early, so he didn't have to wait :) When Keira woke, we headed into town and swam and lounged and ordered swiss chalet for dinner. It was fun, but all the kids were exhausted from the weekend and the heat (and so were we), so we left around 7:00. Kids had a snack and were in bed right away once we got home.

Back to reality today! Hooray for a 4 day work week filled with meetings and hopefully not a lot of traffic! The kids are hanging out with the neighbour kids for the next two weeks before summer camp (and keiras preschool) starts, so I had to do up a menu and prep the food each night--it's a lot of extra work, but it allows me to be here at work ON TIME for once lol
