Weekend Catch-Up

Image
It was a jam packed weekend, and it was so much fun! Wednesday after work, I came home to a COLD house. The AC was finally fixed! We decided to celebrate by making some yummy chocolate cupcakes (my helper and I) Thursday I worked from home, but was stuck on conference calls most of the day, so I feel like I didnt get to catch up on any house stuff (usually I'll run some laundry and clean the kitchen). Oh well! Friday I was off for the day (I booked it when I thought we were going to the cottage), so I dropped off the kids and went to spend the day in Cornwall with my family. It was so nice to just be able to hang out with them without the interruption of my kids (I love them to death, but it was a nice break), and to sit down to a meal with just my sister and do some shopping (we probably havent done this since Garett was a baby). She sent home some clothes for the kids, and Keira could not wait to put this dress on, go figure! lol That evening, I packed eve...

Slow Catch Up

Slowly, but surely, I am catching up. At work, at home, in our social lives, in shopping etc We have entered into the last little haul before school starts, when things typically begin to slow down. We have filled it with activities, which is fine; I would regret it and feel we wasted our summer if we did not. Today I finally finished Garett's back to school supply shopping (I still needed to grab the binder and duotangs, and markers ,etc so I ran to Staples at lunch today). While I was there, there's a Winner's next door, so I grabbed his bookbag and lunch bag, and a bunch of tops for him also. I ordered his inside and outside shoes and most of his clothes online of Sportchek last week, so they should get here this week--sometimes they take a while to deliver, I find. I also went on Amazon and ordered all new tupperware and ice packs, and started stocking up on snacks for our road trip. We are driving to Vaughn and home with the kids August 31-September 2, and I a...

Photographic catch up

We are pouring a few concrete pads, building a water feature and a wood shed, so ALOT of gravel and some machinery was delivered over the weekend. The kids had a blast playing in the gravel and on the machine with daddy, and helping him by playing in the holes and watching him frame it up lol. The boys went to the Navan fair to go on lots of rides, and watch the "big car" demolition derby (small cars were the night before). Garett gave approval applause each time they crashed. This little princess turned THREE. She had a wonderful birthday party with the closest family (grandparents, her aunts and uncles, and a great aunt, as well as our neighbours). We played outside ALOT     The day after Keira's birthday is her Granny's birthday, so we went out to Red Lobster for Crabfest. It was tasty, but it was 2.5 hours and that's too long for this girl (mommy and Keira lol) We got back a bunch of professional photos t...

Life Lately Recap

Image
Summer is in full swing, and things have been crazy busy. Garett has been exercising some of his country-life independence, and getting second supper at neighbour/friends houses. He loves having so many good friends nearby! We had some family photos taken in our yard, and I love all 465 of them! Here are a few:   The kids both had short illnesses. Keira had Strep Throat and was on antibiotics, went to the doctors with Garett and he didn't have it, but put him on meds anyways as a proactive measure. Back to healthy! We went as a family to Mustang Club night. This time it ended in the east end (Orleans, yay!) so we went ahead to Wild Wing for some dinner first. Then met up with the club and my mother in law next door at Marble Slab creamery (this was the night Garett was starting to not feel great- he didn't even want ice cream). We left very early to get him home to rest. The next day, I kept Garett home and took him to the doctors. We...
