This is 37 weekend
It was a great weekend in the Wood household. Garett has been doing exceptionally well at school. He came home Friday with a prize.
He also made a groundhog paper bag puppet where he made a prediction about the groundhog. He was pretty excited when his prediction was right- early spring for the win!
Friday was pretty tame. We ordered food in and relaxed. Once dinner was through, Tyler went up the road to our friend Rods house to watch a concert in his theatre room, and shoot some pool. He was home around 11:00 and we went right to bed.
Saturday morning, I finished packing the kids overnight bags with toothbrushes, and I went out to my eyelash appointment. We left as soon as I got home, dropped the kids off, picked up Tyler's aunt Val and delivered her to my MIL's house and we were off to Carling Ave. I surprised Ty with an hour for us each at Apex V2R, which is virtual reality racing. It was fun! My head was starting to hurt by the end, but it was super cool to race and drive around and look at all of the amazing graphics. If you get a chance, go!! It's $50 per person for an hour, and was a really neat experience.
From there, we headed to Orleans and went to Mandarin for the buffet. We ate a lot, but skipped dessert there since we had reservations for dinner at 6:30 , and we only left Mandarin around 2:45.
On the way to dinner, we facetimed with the kids, and Garett sent me a message that was super cute. He's like a little worried father haha

Tyler also didn't know where I had made reservations for for dinner, so we ubered there and when he saw the place, he was so excited. We ate at the Pelican Fish Market and Grill. We had never eaten here before, but it was jam packed and it is the freshest, yummiest seafood in Ottawa, apparently.
We met a few people at tables around us that have been going back time and time again since they opened the restaurant part in the 1980's.
We started off with some Oysters. Then moved onto mussels and a winter salad (which was arugula with beets, candied cranberries, pumpkin seeds, goat cheese and a maple vinaigrette). For our mains, Tyler had the lobster dinner, and I had snow crab. Then we each got a maple crème brulee. We shared a bottle of Riesling and each had a delicious Negroni and a Spanish coffee with dessert.
We walked over to Overflow, since it was pretty close (it was just super cold out), and worked off some dinner. I spent the first hour feeling super bloated and full, but it was worth it.
Danced and laughed the night away with our friends and neighbours watching our neighbours rockin band "east coast experience". We grabbed a ride back with our next door neighbours, and we stopped at McDonald's drive through for some hot and fresh McDouble's. We were in bed shortly after getting home.
On Sunday, I was up around 7, Tyler around 9. I went into town to grab the kids, while Tyler headed to the store to run an event. Kids and I went home to relax and play for a while. Tyler came home shortly before Keira's nap, and we lounged around with Garett. Ty headed to our friends place in Orleans for Superbowl festivities (poker games, chili, and the game).
The kids and I ordered in dinner again, had a dinner picnic, and played ALOT. We built a fort in the living room, and the kids want to leave it up forever (so do I).
Soon enough, it was bath time and then bed for the kids. Tyler got home at 9:00, and we didn't even watch a show we were so tired.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
