In a world there is so much bad news being reported on everyday, I am so happy to be bringing life into the world. On the radio this morning alone, I heard about 3 gun related incidents. How disgusting will the world get before people decide to change? Instead, I choose to flip the station and listen to some upbeat music :)
Yesterday, I went to the Doctor's and got to heart the little (or I should say BIG ) heartbeat again :) She/he is getting so strong, I can't believe it! I just can't wait for baby to finally be here so I can hold them and smell them and watch them grow and learn and see how funny and smart they are and watch their personality grow! 27 more weeks until I can do this! hehe.
I have read that reading to baby from week 14 onwards can help them intellectually and also, they can remember tones and rhythms outside utero of things read to them on the inside. I have a list of recommended books and will be picking those up in the next few days, along with some big headphones to put on my belly to play baby some music :)
I see my doctor again in 4 weeks, and will get another referral for my next ultrasound at 17 weeks--she told me we may be able to find out the sex at the next one, so I am VERY excited.I cannot wait to start shopping! In my head, 27 weeks is not very long to get fully prepared for another life coming into our home.
I need to get the futon moved down to the "office" (which is actually supposed to be the 4th bedroom), we need to get our Pax installed so I can get all of Ty's clothes shifted over to our room, I need to install the closet organizers in baby's room and go shopping for crib/mattress, changing table, rocking chair. Then we need to go register, start stocking up the room with diapers and wipes and all the fun stuff and decorate/paint!! May as well make the most of my new found energy while I still have it and before baby gets here and sucks it all out of me and Ty! lol
Other than that baby stuff (I could ramble all day about it), this weekend we are having my parents and Ty's mom and stepdad over for a bbq for my parents 38th wedding anniversary! It'll be the first time we get to entertain on our new back stamped concrete patio :) Things are really shaping up back there and it's like my little outdoor oasis! (Just wish it would rain a bit since the grass is looking pretty pathetic!) We are bbq'ing steak, corn on the cob in the husks, and my special potatoes and I will be sauteeing some of my dads favourite mushrooms for him and making my yummy green and yellow beans fresh from the market! I bought all new patio dinnerware for the occassion (and the many bbqs to come lol) and some new placemats and bbq cutlery (unstead of plastic stuff that never seems to suffice). I LOVE hosting--especially for people that know what it is to host something. You get sick of hosting "parties" after a while because it's just a disaster with no real organization-and a HUGE mess to clean up after with no help.
We are very much looking forward to next weekend as well! We are off to see Wicked on Friday night after a nice fancy dinner out (I must go shopping for a new outfit I think :D hehe). We also need to head up to Cornwall to do some last minute stuff at my parents house before they move into their beautiful new home on the 31st! Maybe I can catch one last swim in their pool (weather permitting).
I feel like nothing I am typing is making any sense because I am trying to work at the same time and can only manage one sentence at a time LOL So i better stop before I ramble about anything for too long :) Have a good weekend everyone!!!
