Is it Tuesday yet?...
Tuesday marks the day when Tyler can lift the kids again. We are both ready for this day to arrive , because cooking three meals a day, taking care of the kids, cleaning, bedtime stuff, daycare drop off and pick up with Keira in tow : none of it is what I call "fun". I love my kids, but dang being a single mom would be HARD. I don't know how people with multiple kids and no S.O do it.
Anyways, the show must go on. And so must the party this weekend. I'm hoping my MIL can come over tomorrow afternoon to watch Keira and Tyler for a few hours while I run around like a psych and then get Garett.
The cake is being delivered tomorrow morning, so I have been working hard to make meals out of what is in the fridge and cupboards so I have room. The temp is too cold outside to keep it in the back of my SUV, without it freezing, so I have to keep the fridge pretty empty and move some shelves around.
Then I have to go to Oshkosh/Carters and return two pairs of shoes. When I ordered a bunch of stuff for Keira, I somehow ordered THREE pairs of identical boots in the same size, so I have to bring the two pairs back. Then I have to go to party city and pick up the order of balloons. It was pretty difficult to find classic Star Wars balloons, so I bought two big Darth Vader heads with a bouquet of red and black and the other with yellow and green balloons , and then a big R2D2 floating balloon. I have some other ones to blow up with breath for the kids to play with that are Star Wars as well. Should be enough to make my boy happy. (He is OBSESSED ) with balloons.
Then I have to go to the grocery store to get all the drinks, and the stuff to make the accoutrement snacks. And I need ice cream to serve with the cake. Then I have to make said items.
Did I mention I have like 4 loads of laundry to put away and three more to do, dishes to wash , dusting to do, vacuuming , sweeping, mopping bathrooms to clean, bedrooms to organize and decor to put out.
Oh did I also mention I thought it was best for Keira's afternoon to start the party at 9, so everyone would be gone by 12:30 or so, and we could try and salvage a normal afternoon/evening of naps? And so I didn't have to listen to Garett all morning going "is it my party yet?" Because there's nothing sadder for a kid than the house being decorated and then having to wait until 2pm thinking no one is coming , lol
Not to mention I love the idea of an early party so the house is back in its original sorts by bedtime.
This is our first year opening Garett's party up to other people outside the immediate family. Can you tell I'm not stressed at all? Hahahah

I was wondering why the party started at 9am and then the logical Mom-thoughts came through and I figured it was for the constant questioning of the birthday party start-time PLUS the nap situation!
