Wednesday Rambles

....My anxiety has been out of control. I generally don't have issues balancing stressful things, but there's just been too much on the plate as of late, and it's been manifesting in a way that keeps making me think I have the flu. But it comes and goes way too much to actually be an illness, and I can tell that it ramps up right before I REALLY need it not to. Anyways, it was at an all time high yesterday as I went into an "all day" exam for a different department. It only took me the morning, and I was done, so that was good. But then it was like my body shut down. It was so exhausted from everything leading up to the exam last week also. Tyler picked up the kids, fed them dinner, bathed them, put them to bed, and I went home at 4:30 and crawled into bed and didn't get up until 6:15 this morning. Yep. I woke up briefly to take a Tylenol when Tyler came to bed, and once around 1:30, keira was talking in her sleep. That's it. An almost solid 13 hours of sl...

Weekend Recap

This seems like it was a weekend of food, lol. The weather was garbage, and we had no real plans formulated at the beginning, which was nice! Friday after work, Tyler picked up Keira and I grabbed Garett, and we went immediately to the grocery store. I picked up a bunch of fresh ingredients for our dinner that night. We have fallen out of the habit of nice Friday night dinners. We used to (pre-kids) go out for a nicer meal once a week, and since Garett, we still did it (less frequently), but with Keira and the kids going to bed so early, we can't make it out for dinner with them often, so we started this routine. Usually it would be steak or something we normally wouldn't have on weeknights. But lately, it's fallen by the wayside and we have been ordering in instead. I am sick and tired of ordering in and spending so much money on garbage food! So I grabbed some Alaskan king crab legs and brushed them with garlic and butter and parsley and cooked them in the oven--brush...

About me

I have nothing much to say today, so here's a little something to learn some useless stuff about me! lol 1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?   I was named after my great grandfather on my dads side. 2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?   Last night. I tripped over the laundry basket in my room and fell on top of it, and my toe got stuck in one of the holes and scrapped a lot of skin off. The kids were so scared because I just kind of laid there for a second registering what just happened. Then I went into Garett's room alone and cried because it hurt, and because it scared me--happened so fast, and my head JUST missed the corner of my footboard, and I had JUST put Keira down...it could have been a rough night. 3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING?   No. Not even when I take my time lol 4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?   Salami of all varieties 5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?   yes- two 6. IF YOU WERE ANOTH...

Random-ness

I have nothing in particular to write or share today. But brace yourselves, it turned into kind of a whiny post... I finished an exam today that I was pretty stressed about. It was the THIRD exam in this process, and it's the last step, so I was feeling lots of pressure as I have dedicated lots of time thus far. But I finished up in just over two hours, and I was feeling pretty confident coming out. So it's in the Lord's hands now. Everyone say a quick little prayer for me :) (and you know, more important things too--but also for this please haha). I have another one on Tuesday for a completely different agency, and I'm surprised I was even invited for an exam to that one, to be honest. My stomach is in knots over this one. I don't know why I do this to myself--worry like this. There's NOTHING I can do to change the fact that I don't know much about this agency, and there's nothing I can do about needing to write the exam. If I pass, I pass. If I fai...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today, I'm loving... ...That I'm feeling very positive lately! Big things are on the horizon for Tyler and I both independently and together in 2018. It's going to be a big year, full of many changes, and I can't wait to start implementing the change! ...It's valentine's day, so that means fresh flowers in the house, and that always brightens the mood! ...That is super sunny out again, and this extra vitamin D, and LONGER days boosts my mood also! ...That it's a fairly quiet week at work, with most people out of town on meetings or on some sort of training. Holding down the fort. The days pass quickly, but it is harder to get out of bed when I know no one is here at 8:00 when I arrive anyways LOL ...The last of the stuff for our trip arrived in the mail yesterday. Woo-26 days! ...The price of gas! It's hovering around $1.08 right now, and that's amazing! Usually I spend about $200- $250 a month on fuel, but when prices are like this, it...

*Weekend Recap

Image
We actually had a really nice weekend! Friday after work, we went home and cooked some dinner (just made some pizzas with the kids), filled an entire Rubbermaid bin of Water Beads (Orbeez) to soak overnight, and our friends Rod and Sharon came over. We had done a little Christmas get together with them previously, but gifts came broken and we all had to return things and do a re-do. They just got back from a trip to Jamaica, so it was nice to catch up with them again. I drank some wine, and the boys had some scotch after the kids were in bed. They were gone by 9:30, so we watched an episode of Black Mirror (and this episode was scary!!!), so we were in bed by 10:30. Saturday, the kids slept in until 7:45, and we got up, and Ty made a big breakfast of bacon and hashbrowns, eggs and toast, and then the boys took off to go to Garett's basketball lessons from 9-10. They came home and we all played and tidied up until Keira's nap around 12:50. Garett played with his ipad and doz...

Getting caught up

With the sickness that ravaged the house for a few days, it really felt like we were falling behind on everything. It was only a couple days, but it felt like MUCH longer, so I wasn't really that far behind on things, so it was easy to catch up and feel productive! Last night after work, Tyler grabbed both kids and I went right to the grocery store and did a HUGE haul. Like, I almost needed two carts. The fridge and cupboards are all restocked, and that alone makes me feel better! I'm not used to being home with the kids and them eating CONSTANTLY through the day, plus all the meals for us at home--we were getting pretty creative for snacks by the end of the sickness lol. When I came home, we all put the groceries away together (this takes SO long, but I prefer having everyone do it, so I don't have to answer "what did you buy to eat" a hundred times). Tyler made a cheesy stirfry pasta thing for supper, and fed the kids before I got home, so I sat down quic...

At a glance

Lots of stuff on the horizon! - This weekend is date night! We are going out alone this weekend since it's been a LONG time since we were out just the two of us. Going to try a new place I think. It'll be nice to dress up and hit the town. Maybe he will woo me haha AND I'm done my antibiotics as of tomorrow morning, so I can actually have some cocktails also! -Next weekend we are maybe going to get tickets with another couple to go watch the Elton John Tribute band for another evening out. -Next week is valentines day, so sending off the Valentines stuff to school and daycare, and giving Tyler his fancy gift lol He already told me he is buying me a pedicure, so I may use it very soon, since my mother in law gave me a mani/pedi for Christmas too that I've been saving for our trip. -Back to basketball and swimming lessons. We will also do open swim this weekend to work on some stuff with Garett. He needs to keep up since he is in 9-week lessons instead of 12-14 wee...
