Friday Fun

Randomness today: -Fishing derby weekend. Looks like they will have nice weather! -Garett had Beavers last night , and is counting down the days until next Thursday. He is a boy obsessed. -Tomorrow the kids and I are going to our friends house/our new neighbours in 15 days for a potluck/bonfire. -I ordered a new shirt last night to keep me warm when we got to the Recolte: Fall harvest dinner next Friday! - My license plate sticker renewal is taking FOREVER to get to my house. I ordered it on September 14, and with everything going on weather wise, I assume that put a hold up on it. Hopefully it comes soon, or I have to go into the Service Ontario office and request a replacement. -Garett did his Terry Fox run yesterday and had a blast! -Next week, Garett's "Lunch Lady" program AND pizza days (every Thursday) starts. I am excited for the lunch packing days to be minimized! -We got rid of our basement sectional the other day, the futon, and the big arts an...

Freaking Friday!!!

Time is flying on by! As per the norm, I can't seem to get caught up or stay caught up. Oh well. Such is life when you're busy! Garett started Beavers a few weeks ago and LOVES it. Last night, he earned the little tail for the back of his hat. My Frockbox came again, and I kept 2/5 items. One cashmere type pull over black sweater, and a pair of super comfy maroon jeggings that I wore out the other night. I also received my new 2018/2019 planner, and new bedsheets I ordered for the new house for us and Garett. Yesterday, I ordered all of the kids outdoor fall stuff (coats, fall shoes, mitts, hats, etc) Shannon and I went to try the drinks at FlapJacks pancake house on the weekend. They were good, there was just too much liquid in them. So we switched over to cheap gin and 7's. Had some food (which I found a bit pricey), and headed over to Pub Italia. Looked through the beer bible, but these tired mommas settled on a Caesar and an order of b...

Mid-week date night

Yesterday was a crazy day for us both. Work is just getting crazier for Tyler, and it's at a constant state of chaos for me. I was running a grouping of interviews yesterday, and had to sit in on a few conference calls, so I was mentally completely checked out once I got home. Tyler picked up the kids like usual, I popped in to fill my gas tank before heading home since it was so cheap, and I knew we were taking my vehicle. I emptied Garett's lunch, and packed a new one, cooked them some supper and left out some money for Val. I got Keira's bottle ready, laid out everyones clothes for the morning and we said goodbye for the night! We got to Lansdowne in great time, found an underground parking spot super fast, and really close to the exit, and went into Joey's. We were immediately seated (which never happens there) and ordered a drink (Tyler got his usual Old Fashioned, and I had an Elderflower Collins). We ordered some appetizers (Japanese Gyoza and Tandoori chicke...

This and that

Well, 32 days until moving day. I have zero idea how organized I am right now, but things are shaping up on the main floor. We are busy busy with donating and selling and tossing stuff! We have challenged ourselves to make this our lightest move yet, and I don't know if it will be , but we are doing so good! We are also using the money we make from selling stuff to put in a pot to pay for the trucks and pizza/beer for the people that help, and we already have more than enough for that, so we can even throw some $$ at closing costs, so more stays in our pocket :) I love when things work out well like that. Last night I started going through basement bins. I got rid of one of our Christmas trees already, and all of our Halloween decorations (living in the country, we won't get any kids, so we won't be decorating like last year for Halloween). I will keep the basics for outside décor for fall and winter, but nothing else! I also have my list of where the rest of the base...

Weekend Recap

Image
This weekend ended up being pretty full, even though I had every intention in the world to empty out the rest of my house of furniture we don't need! Friday night Tyler was supposed to be out at a poker game that he goes to once a month, but he got the dates wrong and it's actually next Friday, so we decided to just stay in, order in food and relax. We ordered some Popeye's from the Uber Eats app, and after a couple of very frustrating phone calls, we finally got some food an hour and forty minutes later (food that was cold, and not anything resembling the order we placed). My nerves were shot. After the kids went to bed, I had a bath and we were in bed quite early. Saturday morning Tyler and Garett were out the door by 8AM (which foiled my plans to go have a "me" morning and get a mani/pedi). They went to help build a pergola in a friends backyard. Garett never wanted to come home. This couple is so sweet; they gave garett a sweater of the husbands from when ...

And so it begins..

Another year of school has begun. The house is a hub of activity. Garett came home last night VERY excited and happy--a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders. He loves his new school, even though it is about quadruple the size of his old school. I am so proud of him for making the most out of his first day :) I took his lunch and waterbottle out of his backpack, and went through the package of papers they always send home on the first day. This school uses an app called "ClassDojo" and it's like a communication server between parents and the teachers directly. They also post pictures to your childs page so you can see what they are up to at school. I just love this new world of technology! Inquiring minds like to know!!! Garett got to pick what we had for dinner, so I made some crab cakes (chore and a half), some filet mignon kebabs, a veggie sautee and some rice. We had some people come to look at our house, so we were pretty quiet from 5:50-6:15. once they ...

Back to school

Well, as of Friday August 31, Garett had completed his first summer vacation! I went for a goodbye lunch to Clocktower Pub with work as a goodbye to a student that we had. When we came back, my Manager let us go a bit early, so I got to head out at 3:00 instead of 4. I went right to Kids Kingdom and G and I played endless arcade games, cashed in all his tickets, said goodbye to his counsellors and friends, and picked up some food for dinner. Saturday morning Ty went and did a contract, and then my parents came to get Garett for a night at the trailer. Tyler went to a friends house for a bit, and I started going through stuff to get rid of/pack/sell and I just wound up making a huge mess and our house looked like it was straight out of an episode of hoarders. It caused me a lot of anxiety..I hate when there's just STUFF around. I'm trying to put stuff together and pack it in a way that they will be in a box according to whatever NEW room they will go into. FYI- this will h...
