And so it begins..

Another year of school has begun. The house is a hub of activity.


Garett came home last night VERY excited and happy--a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders. He loves his new school, even though it is about quadruple the size of his old school. I am so proud of him for making the most out of his first day :) I took his lunch and waterbottle out of his backpack, and went through the package of papers they always send home on the first day. This school uses an app called "ClassDojo" and it's like a communication server between parents and the teachers directly. They also post pictures to your childs page so you can see what they are up to at school. I just love this new world of technology! Inquiring minds like to know!!!



Garett got to pick what we had for dinner, so I made some crab cakes (chore and a half), some filet mignon kebabs, a veggie sautee and some rice.

We had some people come to look at our house, so we were pretty quiet from 5:50-6:15. once they left, I took Garett for a ride to DQ. We picked up a treat for everyone. The kids ate their stuff and then it was straight into the bath to wash off the sticky mess!


Once the kids were ready for bed, I packed lunches, laid out clothes, put a bit of laundry away and had a nice soak of my own. We watched a little bit of House while we laid in bed and reflected on the day.

We also talked the other night about what we were going to put Garett in again. Swimming, skating? I hate too many things at once (don't forget the times he was in Swimming, skating, karate, AND basketball lessons in tandem...it was too much). For now, we settled on what we think is very important. Beaver Scouts. We paid the dues and ordered the uniform. He starts September 10! Tyler also volunteered to be a leader if they need one, or just to volunteer when they need someone. He is excited to say the least (both of the boys are lol)




Aside from that , we were asleep by 10:15, and it was back to the routine this morning!

Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. -Garett went on his first friend play date ever , and he had so much fun. It was his two best friends that left daycare to start school last year. -happy that while Garett was at his play date, Tyler was home with Keira and I went out for a bit alone, then came home and we finished The Belko Experiment movie before I went to get him. (He was there for two hours) -sad that this week, Garett only has four days left at daycare :( Friday is Keira's first day, while I keep g home with me. Friday fun!

Thank God it's Friday, and that this week is O-V-E-R!!! -It was a stressful week at home. Looking forward to a fun weekend! -I am being audited for child care expenses in 2018--I'm not the only one that thinks we pay too much money in child care! LOL...I submitted my receipts online (they are catching up with the times and it's great!) and turns out I actually underclaimed by a few hundred dollars haha. -Tonight is calm, just hanging at home with the kids. -Saturday I have an eyelash appointment at 2:00, and then we have a sitter coming at 6:00 so we can go to a Wine & Cheese night up the road at our friends house. -Sunday is a day of rest until the evening when Shan comes over and we head into town to go to the Trailer Park Boys Christmas at the NAC (I bought Tyler and I tickets as an early Christmas gift).
