Weekend Recap

Image
Another crazy busy weekend has come and gone. This one, I feel like I need a day alone at home to recuperate from; I am so tired. Also ZERO housework got done this weekend, aside from laundry (which isn't put away), a clean dishwasher that isn't put away, a toy room I partially organized, and rugs were put into the kids rooms. On Friday, I went home right after work (shout out to my amazing husband that went to the grocery store so I wouldn't have to), and as soon as I pulled in, Casey and Rylie and Shan shortly after arrived, so I tried to get my life together, but everything was quite chaotic lol. I made a creamy bacon broccoli pasta thing, which I doubled, but then didn't double the rest of the ingredients LOL oops, and some garlic parmesan puffs. It was still not bad, but I was flustered after my day already. Our friends up the road and their little girl ended up coming too. Shan and Casey left pretty early, I put Keira to bed and Garett and Brin cozied up to watc...

Weekend crazies

It was a jam packed weekend! But so much fun was had ! Thursday (I think it was Thursday lol), we received Garett's school pictures, so I place our order right away. I can never decide , so I always just buy a huge package with a bunch of backgrounds :) I am so proud that he kept his hair normal AND smiled well! Big boy. Thursday night, Tyler had a band rehearsal, so he picked up Keira and brought her over to TJ and Jami's for a bit before they brought her home in time for me to get her to bed. Garett had a very important night at Beavers--he was sworn in and got his "necker" (scarf). He also received his lodge (he is a Falcon), and his first achievement badge :) We got home around 7:50, and put keira right to bed. Ty got home around 11:00, since all 10 members of the band went out for a bite to eat after rehearsal.   Friday morning my friend Jami/new neighbour texted me asking if I wanted in on some axe throwing. I said YES because I have been ...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

- That the move went off without a hitch, had a great night and things are coming along with getting settled in! -The kids didn't miss a beat and are sleeping like champs in their new house -Since I got rid of A LOT....like, ALOT of stuff before we moved, I am now shopping on Wayfair.ca ALOT. I have Keira's room almost complete now. Just have to wait for it to get here and put it all together. I bought her a grey soft shaggy area rug, painting the walls a light pink, bought some white heart wall decals, new bedding, need to hang her curtains and put closet doors (and some shelves) up. I just need to figure out wall décor. - Also ordered new shower curtains and bath mats. -Also ordered the kids their new snowsuits for this year. -Garett's had a bit of a rough week at school. But I think we have found an agreeable solution, and things are looking up. Then I get a call today that he fell on the yard and scraped up his top lip on the pavement :( Poor kid. - Bake sal...

What I'm loving Wednesday

-That I left work a few minutes early last night to grab lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese for tacos- I had made the taco meat the night before, so all I had to do was toss in a pan and reheat and boom dinner was ready! -Casey and Shan and Rylie popped by for a bit, and Casey helped Ty bring up/deliver the futon and big table in the basement to where they needed to go. So now the basement is that much emptier :) -Val came over around 6:45, to watch the kids/put them to bed because the Lawyer had a cancellation and could take us last night instead of tonight. We got everything signed off and were home by 7:30 (which is when our appointment was originally scheduled to start!). We visited a bit with Val and then went up and got to tuck Garett in. -We caught up on a few more episodes of House before we hit the hay also. - This morning we all slept in, and Tyler ended up taking both kids, so I made it here by 7:30! -I didn't win on any of my poker lottery tickets last night (...

Long weekend recap

We had such a great long weekend, I hate to see it end, but next weekend will be fun too! On Friday, I left work around 2:00, went and did a bit of shopping, stopped for gas and headed home. Garett had a PD day from school, so he was with the Early Learning Center on their field trip to Proulx farm. They did corn mazes, tractor rides, etc and picked a pumpkin to bring home. "I picked the biggest one I could carry!" he exclaimed as he ran in the door lol. I ordered in Pizza and chicken nuggets/ fries and the twins were at our house around 4:45. TJ and Jami stopped by to get us around 5:00 and we headed downtown. Before we left, in true fall fashion, I had a little sip of this. When we got there, our dome was not yet ready, so we sat around the fire and I had two of the Scoffau drinks (which is bitters, whiskey, lime, champagne or something). It was very good! Our other couple arrived, and we visited until we were seated (we were visiting here for about 4...
