Weekend crazies

It was a jam packed weekend! But so much fun was had !

Thursday (I think it was Thursday lol), we received Garett's school pictures, so I place our order right away. I can never decide , so I always just buy a huge package with a bunch of backgrounds :) I am so proud that he kept his hair normal AND smiled well! Big boy.

Thursday night, Tyler had a band rehearsal, so he picked up Keira and brought her over to TJ and Jami's for a bit before they brought her home in time for me to get her to bed. Garett had a very important night at Beavers--he was sworn in and got his "necker" (scarf). He also received his lodge (he is a Falcon), and his first achievement badge :) We got home around 7:50, and put keira right to bed. Ty got home around 11:00, since all 10 members of the band went out for a bite to eat after rehearsal.

Friday morning my friend Jami/new neighbour texted me asking if I wanted in on some axe throwing. I said YES because I have been looking for a chance to get there. We went into town around 7:30 PM and picked up three other ladies, and headed over. When we arrived, the guy working informed us that we were allowed to bring any snacks or drinks (alcohol included) in, so we ran over to trainyards and stopped in at farm boy for some snacks (candy, nuts and popcorn), and drinks (pepsi) then ran next door to LCBO and picked up a few things and headed back. It was a lot of fun! We stayed for two hours, dropped the ladies off at home and I was home in bed by 11:00.

6AM came fast on Saturday morning, but Ty fed the kids and I got up around 7 (even 11 PM is late for me lol). We fed the kids and played in the leaves and put up a big post in the back yard to put our cell signal booster on, and to string outdoor lights from. While he was putting the post in, I made some potato bacon chowder--prep wasnt too much, and just threw it all in the slow cooker, and we had it for lunch around noon!

Soon enough Keira was napping and Tyler headed out around 1:30 PM. He went to Rods house and then to grab his friend Daryl to head to the War Museum for "Whiskey Night". They were lead in by a bag piper ceremony , and had an hour of VIP --a whiskey lesson, followed by some food and then the real drinking began. I don't know how they did it, but they drank their $180 ticket price worth..which wasn't hard since some of the bottles they got to sample from were $800 bottles!

Garett had a BIG morning on Saturday. He learned how to ride his two wheel bike! He was SO proud , and spent the majority of the weekend outside practicing, doing laps around and around our driveway circle.

While Ty was out, Keira woke from her nap around 4, so I got the kids ready and we headed into the Orleans Fruit Farm and picked some pumpkins! We stopped at Walmart to get a ton of carving tools and accessories and some frozen finger foods, grabbed some Wendy's and headed home. Jami and Brin came over around 6:00PM and we all carved pumpkins together. I did not roast seeds this year. We never eat them when I do! Garett wanted to have Brin for a sleepover, but she ended up going home when Jami was getting ready to leave. Kids were in bed around 8:15 (another late night). I stayed up and caught up on a bunch of shows and went to bed around midnight.

(Garett insisted on wearing a part of his costume to carve pumpkins lol). We ended up with a cat  and a spider pumpkin.

Sunday morning Ty came home and we relaxed a bit. Garett rode his bike all morning almost, and we ended up ordering wings, poutine, cheese sticks, etc for dinner and went to eat with the neighbours. Garett rode his bike, and we came home right after to relax! I took a bath, and we binge watched a cooking series on Netflix called "Fat, Salt, Acid, Heat". We went to bed around 9:30! I slept in a bit today, and since Ty took the kids to daycare/school, I arrived nice and early (like 10 mins early lol)

Today is the start of the United Way charity campaign at G's school. Runs for a week, and each day is a theme day. We send in our toonie and he participates. Today was crazy hair day. So I bought some hair spray that has colour in it and sprayed his hair green, then used black spray and made his hair look camouflage. He was so excited that I woke up at 1:45 AM to him standing beside my bed,  dressed and ready for school. I had to put him back to bed and explain it was the middle of the night lol.

Hope everyone else had a great weekend also; and VERY happy the snow that fell did not accumulate :)
