Mundane Madness
Things have been slow moving (time, productivity) the last week or so. I am just finding a gross lack in motivation whenever the weather is grey.
I feel a huge disconnect when the weather is like this with Tyler, with all of my friends and family. This is all because of my own doings though. I stop saying yes to things, I stop making plans. I really just nail my feet to the floor in my house and wait out the rest of winter. Plus, I am having so much anxiety surrounding this trip (I hate travelling when the potential of snow storms can affect flight times, turbulence, etc).
But other than that, lately I have been slowly plugging away at my house after watching "Tidying Up". Since I did a HUGE riddance before we moved (huge is an understatement), I don't have much to do in the thinning out department, but to organize the cupboards and drawers better is my jam.
- I repurposed the pantry back into a pantry (well, kitchen storage) over the weekend. I was using it as a linen closet, but now it houses our microwave and small kitchen appliances.
- I went through Keira's closet and Garett's closet, and put aside any clothing that is too small for them. I folded all of their blankets, clothing in the dressers to look like her method. I will say it saves SO much room, and I cannot wait to do mine and Ty's stuff this weekend!
-I went through our "stuff" drawer in the kitchen. Mostly the things in our stuff drawers are little pieces of toy sets that never made its way back where it belongs. So I put all of those things away. I tried to recycle some art that Garett did, but he caught me. So I made a sort of filing system for his artwork he wants to keep.
-I went through the front hall and put aside all of the shoes/boots and outdoor garb that does not fit the kids anymore.
I finally finished my packing lists and have started making little piles of stuff all over the place. My method of packing is organized chaos lol. I need to have everything out to "SEE" what I need and what still needs to be added to the list. Trying my best not to get carried away for any of us :) No promises Shan LOL
I am looking forward to my eyelash appointment on Feb 22, and trying to decide if I want to waste money on a mani/pedi when I could do it at home. I love when my nails are done with gel/acrylic, but it takes so long to grow out or get off of my nails, and I hate how weak my nails feel afterwards. May just do a home job and get a really good top coat polish :)
I also wanted to make a hair appointment to dye my hair. But Tyler all but begged me to just keep it my natural colour (I feel like he doesn't support the $300 bill when I don't really NEED to do it, not that he just genuinely loves the colour of my hair, which he said lol).
I have been mentally checked out of work the last few days. I feel like I can't get on top of anything, nor do I feel like I WANT to. Waiting for that drive to kick in so I can hammer out a bunch of stuff. With the coming weather, I am bringing my laptop home tonight and tomorrow night, so hopefully if I need to work from home, I can feign some sort of desire to catch up.
My friend finalized the booking of the cottage for our girls weekend March 22- 24. I am super excited for that :) Reconnect with the girls!
STILL haven't booked our hotel for June in Buffalo to see Hanson. We will get there. Once we get back from our trip, I will get on that.
Hope you all had a nice weekend! We just laid low! Tyler played a gig at the Sens Gala, and did a ton of working from home, so we just hung out and played at home! No harm, no foul.

I hear ya on the hibernating - its a good time to do your purging and organization because you don't want to do that in the summer when it's nicer out! Take advantage now. I have been caught many times recycling Tanner's art, there is only so much you can keep!! LOL
