Life Lately

-Hosting Bearbrook Ladies night two weekends ago was wonderful! I put out a full charcuterie spread, made a mint/cranberry/grapefruit drink to share, and all of us received a tarot card reading, palm read and a facial read. Pretty much the reoccurring consensus between all three reads (it was two different people doing it) was that my heart and mind live in a state of conflict, but that it works for me to live in a state of balance. I deal mostly with logic and facts, and less with emotions; they think I would be good as an analyst (weird, since this is pretty well my role at work), and with numbers (which I also do all day at work lol). I'm stubborn and loyal and do not have a mean streak. That I am the same person at home as I am in social settings...blah blah blah. It was interesting! -Last weekend, we went out to Tyler's Disco Inferno show to celebrate our friend Jami and Donna's birthdays. We danced away (one of Keira's ECE's from daycare came out too!) and i...

Thursday Things

My mind is everywhere these days. -Today Garett brought his Avengers valentines and little treat bags for his class, since tomorrow is a PD day. -I sent Keira's in today too, but they will do their handing out tomorrow, I assume. -This weekend is boring. Tyler is having a musician friend over on Friday night, and he has a gig Saturday. -Tyler gets to stay home with the kids for Family Day on Monday. But as a federal gov't employee, we don't have family days off. -Next week, I am working from home Thursday and Friday, but this week I have been off the last two days, so skipping my work from home day in lieu of being in the office for a day of meetings. -February is my turn to host our "Bearbrook Ladies" night, where all of the ladies in the neighbourhood get together each month to visit, have drinks and snacks and usually do a fun activity. My activity is having two clairvoyants come over- they are doing individual palm and tarot card readings, and facial re...

Weekend Rewind

It was a busy but uneventful weekend. We went to St. Louis for dinner on Wednesday night for Tyler's cousins birthday with a few friends. My dinner never came until the end in a doggy bag. So I chowed down once we got home lol. Thursday was my work from home day, and I stayed home to work on Friday also with the awful weather. Tyler brought the kids into town for school/daycare so we could actually get some work done. I made a huge casserole full of cabbage rolls and delivered it to our neighbours, and the kids and husbands had a dinner play date, while Jami and I went to see Birds of Prey with another friend. We went to Moxies first for a drink and dinner. I dropped everyone off at home afterwards, and was home by 10:15pm. Saturday morning, Keira had an appointment at Cookie Cutters in Orleans. We got there a bit early so she could play, and she brought life to this place. Lots of kids crying, but she was just VERY excited to be there. After her hair c...

This is 37 weekend

It was a great weekend in the Wood household. Garett has been doing exceptionally well at school. He came home Friday with a prize. He also made a groundhog paper bag puppet where he made a prediction about the groundhog. He was pretty excited when his prediction was right- early spring for the win! Friday was pretty tame. We ordered food in and relaxed. Once dinner was through, Tyler went up the road to our friend Rods house to watch a concert in his theatre room, and shoot some pool. He was home around 11:00 and we went right to bed. Saturday morning, I finished packing the kids overnight bags with toothbrushes, and I went out to my eyelash appointment. We left as soon as I got home, dropped the kids off, picked up Tyler's aunt Val and delivered her to my MIL's house and we were off to Carling Ave. I surprised Ty with an hour for us each at Apex V2R, which is virtual reality racing. It was fun! My head was starting to hurt by the end, but it was super cool to ...

I am the definition of M.I.A.

I love coming to this little corner to jot down thoughts, but sometimes it just seems like too much is running through my mind and I don't even know where to begin playing catch up. So instead, things are always point form. My brain works in lists, therefore, that's what you get! While I have been MIA since Christmas, I have done a few things: -Babysat the neighbours kids (a baby and a 5 year old) so they could go out on their first date night since baby was born. -Completed the  front hall (with the exception of building the hall closet area), finished off the living room and upstairs hall (just need my  stinkin rug to arrive! ) -Ty started a new job as a Business Development Manager for an eCommerce platform, and is really enjoying his flexible hours and working from home. -I attended a margarita/Mexican fiesta at my neighbours house for the January edition of the Bearbrook Ladies house tours. -Went to a 5th birthday party up the road. -Went on a two day business w...
