So--it's been a while! I guess I should hunker down and write a blog since it's been forever since I had the chance to do it!
Not much has happened since my last blog, but at the same time, it feels like a TON has happened.
Let's see--so my last blog was a little before Hallowe'en weekend, so here goes nothin'...
On October 27, we had a bakesale at work, so the night of the 26th, I was a busy girl baking away! I made mini pumpkin spice cupcakes with a homemade cream cheese icing. They were very sweet, but good! Glad I made them mini or it would have been too sweet with the icing for a complete cupcake! So I made a batch for home and a batch for work. They must have gone over well because I only had 4 come back to take home after the sale was done :)
I had October 28 off as I had a doctors appointment. After my appointment, I took advantage of my day and went and did a little shopping for the house. I picked up some metal wall art for the living room, a big tall vase and some stuff to go in it for the spare room and a few other things I can't remember right now! But it was fun--then I headed home and cleaned a bit and relaxed. That night, Ty and I headed to Quyon for the beginning of the boys weekend gig. I think me and Shannon and three other people were the only ones there the whole night, so they let the boys go around 12:30 or 1 if I remember correctly. It was nice to sleep at home when I was expecting to have to sleep there!
On the 29th, we woke up late, lounged around for a bit--Ty went out to work and I caught up on some PVR shows and took a nice long hot shower, blow dried my hair and put the curlers in and did my makeup for that night. I put my hair up in a net thing once it was curled and we headed to Gatineau to Tactick paintball field. We got there so early (around 4) and the game didn't start until after 6--so we hung out around the truck, went to a gas station for snacks, etc and while Ty played paintball for the whole hour he got to play for, I napped in the truck since I knew it would be a long night. Then we headed out to Quyon once more. Ty and I both dressed up as Pirates and it was a good time :) That night, we slept at Gavan's hotel on an air mattress since there was only one room available and Robbie and Amber came--Robbie has a bad back so they got the bed :) The air mattress was surprisingly comfy though!
Sunday morning we woke up, and went to Broadway's for breakfast. Once we got there, Ty and Steph went in and I decided to stay in the truck and nap since I wasn't that hungry yet and I was more tired then anything (must be when the sickness started setting in)! So I was dead to the world when they came back. We dropped Steph off at home, went and grabbed a few things from the house on Blair and went home and napped more, showered and did a bit of laundry. Later that night we went and emptied the house on Blair completely and went home. The old landlord showed his true colours once more (he was there the entire time watching us and making comments) and we bid good riddance to that awful house. Onto a brighter future :)
Sunday night at the house on Blair, the sickness that was taking hold of my body got out of control. I couldn't stand up without feeling like passing out/getting dizzy/feeling very hot and my vision going wonky. So I sat a lot of the time there. My voice was on the outs already (I had chaulked it up to singing too loud the night before but I guess that's not the case) and I felt absolutely awful and exhausted, my throat was just throbbing and sore/swollen. So home I went right to bed. I sent my managers an email that night telling them I wouldn't be in. When it didn't improve at all on my sick day on Monday, I sent another email Monday night that I wouldn't be in. Off to the Doctors AGAIN I went on Tuesday. Turns out it was a ear/nose/throat/chest infection and he gave me pills I can't even pronounce (some sort of antibiotic that treats Strep throat, infections, etc). I took two that day as per his instruction and felt like a truck ran me over. They are jsut awful on your system! I have two days left of one pill a day and they are awful! Make me feel sick to my stomach and give me major cramps but I am feeling much better! My ears and nose are still a little clogged feeling but other then that, good to go!
Work has been pretty hectic but has started to calm down now that I'm pretty well caught up!
Today is the day!! My parents are heading to my house and our carpet is going in!!!!! YAY...last night, Ty and I went to home depot to return one of the basement track lights as it was broken and bought the same one to replace it and another new light for the bottom of the stairs. (we also did some christmas shopping there and he bought an amazing new tool box too). He painted the walls and ceiling yesterday while I was at work and everything is done now but the baseboards and one door down there needs to be replaced. Setting up the furniture and stuff tonight. I cannot even wait! No more living in any sort of chaos/dust from sanding/drywalling, etc!!!!!
Anyways, so that's about it that's going on in my life--aside from possible flurries today :(:(:( Winter tire and coat/boot time soon! No more fall stuff:( On the upside! Next week, we get Remembrance Day off and I will stand and wait for the moment of silence, and then spend the rest of my afternoon decorating for Christmas! That's right--my new tradition :) Me and Ty use November 11 afternoon to do our Christmas tree, listen to christmas music and enjoy each others company. I can't wait:) Now that we've started our shopping, I am officially excited!!!
What's everyones plan this weekend???
