The weekend is quickly approaching and it feels like the week is just beginning in our house. With Tyler participating in the 4 day Home Show, I am pretty much drained already. I don't know why because Garett sleeps almost through the night now (wakes up for one feeding, sometimes 2 between 11 and 7 am). I am just excited for Monday to get here LOL (sorry to all you people working).
I am almost all caught up on laundry, just have to put it all away now :) And my wardrobe is really growing with it all starting to arrive in the mail :) I'm hoping by the time I'm all caught up on all the house work that the snow will melt a bit so Garett and I can take a trip to Cornwall or something to get out of the house while daddy is out :) When it's snowy or calling for snow or freezing outside I just have no desire to take him out :(
Tuesday I have my follow up colposcopy at the hospital since last time I went I was 7 months pregnant and they didn't really want to do anything so we'll see how it goes :) Here's hoping for good results and that having a baby fixed any problems there were lol. *fingers crossed*
I may use all this alone time to start the series of One Tree Hill over again :) Ty doesn't watch it, so this is my chance! lol
I have also been talking to my compensation advisor at work and looking to get Leave income averaging set up so that I can go back to work in March instead of January. I want to make sure we find the best babysitter for Garett and don't want to leave him at a babysitters when he isn't quite a year old yet. I don't want to miss anything :( But this way it also gives me time to find a parking spot for a fair price downtown and makes it so I don't have to go back in the middle of winter (unless next winter is like this winter LOL).
Yesterday I watched the 2013 Budget being presented on CTV. Looks like there's no extra public servants on the chopping block (I assume just the forecasted ones from last years budget presentation still being cut), but I was so outraged when I saw the Grand Chief in Manitoba come on the television and complain about this years budget. He says "This budget doesn't benefit the aboriginal community at all" and the reporter says something like "what about all the initiatives they are introducing to provide financial support to aboriginals trying to find employment or train for certain skills" and he pretty much flat out said yes but those dont really matter when you don't have a home that meets basic needs or that has running water....ok, pardon me, sorry for all you activists that for some reason still feel like aboriginal people need us to fight for them, but I have to use MY hard earned money to pay extra taxes for you to get extra tax breaks and get extra funding???? I didn't steal your land, and I don't know anyone who did so why am I paying for this???? Is the government giving me free money to go back to school? Is the government giving me handouts to maintain my house to a good living standard? NO! I pay for this myself. I work hard for what I have and I am proud of what I own because I worked for it. Sure it's nice to get a cheque from the government I'm sure but maybe take this money and put it into the pockets of the country that really need it : Education, healthcare, new infrastructure (which they are this year) and keeping the country out of a massive deficit because it's afraid of hurting feelings. These are areas that will benefit the country as a whole and not just one isolated group.
Anyways, sorry, enough with that rant...I was pretty irritated when he came on complaining lol.
Once it's nice enough for Ty to start digging (as in the ground thawing out and stop snowing LOL) we're ripping up our driveway and front walkway. We are widening our driveway since it just fits two cars side by side right now, we want a little more room. and want it to match up with the side walkway that Ty put in along the side of the house that matches our beautiful back patio. Here is a picture of what we will do--regular concrete in the middle and stamped concrete horseshoe around the outside and front walk/steps. SO excited for the outside work summer brings. This and the basement washroom will be the last we do to this house before we list to sell and move to a bigger place. Aiming to list around fall---if you know anyone who's interested :)
Hope everyone enjoys their Friday!!Hope you all have fun on your weekend :)
