Where did this day fly by to???!
Yesterday was Tyler's last day at the tradeshow. He walked away with a goal of 75 estimates, which is insane so he needs to spend the next week calling them and scheduling the estimates and then go back to sign whatever contracts...it's going to be a busy year...and not to mention the other 1000 business cards he handed out to people that showed some sort of interest while walking by. Who knows how many estimates will come out of that! I stressed out FOR him LoL
So, it goes without saying that he was pretty excited yesterday. I knew he would be and I wanted to celebrate so I decided to get dressed nice (like I would if we went out) and cook a nice meal! I made some crusty bread with olive oil, garlic and oregano and some fettuccine with sautéed onions, garlic and mushrooms in a pesto sauce that I turned creamy and some butter grilled chicken sliced up on top. I had wanted to split a bottle of white wine with dinner but I forgot Sharon drank my bottle of the good stuff I had lol so I messaged Ty to tell hm to pick some up but it was long closed by the time he went by. I had the table set up Like a formal restaurant and lit some candles and turned on nice relaxing music. I popped open Tyler's red wine we had that he loves and I had a little glass of gin and tonic water with lime. It was fantastic. The baby slept...well...like a baby the whole time I was cooking and until we finished dinner and then some! What a good boy :) after dinner we finished off season 7 of Greys Anatomy and bought season 8 on the Apple TV (which is awesome!!! Everyone should have one!) we watched the first two episodes and were so pooped we went to bed!
Oh the downside, since I allowed Garett to sleep so long yesterday, he was up every 2 or 3 hours when he usually sleeps almost through the night now. I also woke up to discovery had started catching the cold Ty had for a few days so I immediately took more cold Fx and vitamin C and chugged a glass of ice water. I feel a little better...just a bit of a scratchy throat so I hope I fended it off well enough! I will die of sadness if I see Garett sick so he better not get it.
This morning we were up early, fed and changed the baby and Tyler made a big breakfast and we sat and relaxed and watched 2 more episodes of Greys. Then he went out and cleaned the entire garage and did some dishes while I put away laundry , to played with the baby and packed away all of Garett's newborn onesies that he's too long for, put away nursing pads, breast pump(he's on 100% formula now) the extra pack and a half of milk storage bags I didn't use, a bunch of bottles since we have way too many out now that he drinks formula, all his tiny mitts and hats and socks that don't fit, etc :( it is so sad!! I already want a tiny baby in the house again hahah
Now, Tyler is calling about some estimates and I'm watching Garett nap again before Ty heads out for a couple hours to meet up with his new band to discuss the set list thats been chosen and schedule practise before their gig in may. This works out well because its music Ty Loves (newer more funky stuff) and everyone in the band has time consuming jobs and kids and stuff so they're not planning to pay too much...just here and there for fun :) that's what he needs....to not have to play every weekend and end up hating playing music again. I guess it's a rediscovered love :)
I got the tickets for cousins weekend delivered the other day and got them all stuffed in the envelopes and addressed And am sending them out tomorrow! It's not until August but this way it gives me time to find out numbers and plan accordingly ands gives my cousins from out of town a chance to plan ahead and come :) I'm so excited!!
Tomorrow is a busy day. My dad is coming up again to take me to my appointment at the hospital while Tyler watches the baby, then our accountant is coming by to sign all of the taxes paperwork and then I have to go do groceries.
I also got back in touch with my old Zumba instructor asking about her next session since I enjoyed it so much when I did it before and she's just finishing up school on April 18 and then starting a new session, so excited for that as well!
We also started actively looking for houses online today. We would like to sell/move in the fall. This house isn't big enough for us anymore so we need to move. We're looking towards Russell or more on the west end of ottawa this time if we can't find anything out this way. So we're going to sit down and meet with our new mortgage consultant in the next few weeks to discuss our options and watch the market around here for a bit to see where we stand in asking price. We are obviously trying to use my year off to our advantage as much as possible haha.
I guess I will go put away some dishes and decide on dinner so it's ready by the time Tyler gets home :) hope everyone had a wonderful Monday back to work after their weekend! On the upside the weather is going to start getting nicer! Woohoo!
