Monday Morning(ish)
What.a.NIGHT!
Luck was running short in the Wood household last night. Someone's karma bit the wrong two people :( first off, Garett somehow caught a stomach bug causing him to have a fever if 101 on top of his congestion, and projectile vomiting on my bed (twice) (not to mention I changed the sheets in between too.). My poor boy :( he was smiles the whole time, which is probably why it took us an hour to figure out he was even sick! ...so out came the Otrivin sea water for babies nasal spray, tempra and water to stay hydrated. I was all set to cuddle with him in bed all night. But he had different plans. He wanted to go to his crib around 10:30. At 11 he woke up crying for his bottle, so we gave him some and he went back to sleep until almost 9 this morning. He seems 100% better other than the stuffy nose, but I'm getting rid of that pretty quickly I think :)
In the midst of all of this, I was cooking our dinner. Here is what I made:
Garlic Parmesan roasted potatoes
Delicious right? Couldn't tell ya. Ty liked it, but I was in too much pain to eat it. You see, the potato recipe says to heat the oil in a pan in a 500 degree oven. Then toss the potatoes in the oil, put back in to cook until tender and then you take it out and toss the fresh ingredients in...well...everything was fine until I took them out for the tossing part, literally everything in your brain says GRAB THE HANDLE when you stir...well I did...without an oven mitt. Left hand :burned. Ouch! So I ran it under cool water for 15 minutes and kept it submerged for a while. I was feeling somewhat better (random sprints to the sink when I got a burning sensation), when I walked by the stove again and went to move to pan--right hand :burned!!! Wtf. I burst out laughing for a second before the tears started to pour down my face. I had managed to burn BOTH of my hands. Ty had to care mostly for Garett for a few hours while I stood a the sink or with a cup of lol water attached to both hands. I hate burns!!! Eventually I put on some polysporin, and once I got Garett down, the pain had subsided enough so I could sleep. Lesson learned--never cook with a pan in the stove again. Apparently I'm too forgetful now lol
Yesterday afternoon, Ty got the rest of the outside lights put up. And they withstood the crazy wind/rain storm last night!
Today, I think we deserve to watch made for TV movies and relax lol. We had some French toast for breakfast and don't feel like doing much--Garett is pretty content playing all day :)
Happy Monday!!
