Saturday recap/November Date
Saturday, we slept in until 8:30:)
When we woke up, we lounged with the boy until 10. Then we hauled butt and got Garett and ourselves ready. Off to Orleans! Granny and Grandpa were waiting to spend a few hours with G.
We got all dressed up headed out from there and headed downtown to the Ottawa Convention Center (beside rideau center), had our tickets scanned and went inside. Our date was the Ottawa Food and Wine Festival.
We started off buying our drink/food tickets--we started with a taste of the new Budweiser --I forget what it's called--but it's much darker--pretty good, but I'm not a huge beer fan, so I cleaned my cup at the rinse station and had a bit of sommersby. We also tried a new girls night out wine, a Riesling , a 1997 Shiraz, some big rig brewery beer and I think that's it on the liquor side of things--sounds like we had a lot but the wine is not 30ml servings and beer is 60ml.
The food we tried was some green curry chicken from the Green Papaya, some salt fish cakes from a little Caribbean stand, pulled pork and Mac and cheese from a new smokehouse, some collocates bakery thing from the cupcake lounge (which was a caramel/coconut/lemony thing...yum!) and bought some green apple, banana , and cherry cotton candy. All in all it was a good time! We will be back and get a hotel for the night next time--we felt restricted because we were driving and rushed for time.
We went and got our boy and came home to play and cuddle :)
We bought Silence of the Lambs on Apple TV and then watched the promo video we picked up from Sandals at the festival :) (may or may not already be planning for our next trip LOL).
Now, I am in the tub, about to get out and put the munchkin to bed :)
Hope you all had a great Saturday as well!!
