What I am putting on repeat in my head today.

Life Lately/500 posts

As per the usual, life has been wild/fun/stressful. On the business front for Ty--lots of major developments. Howard Stern XM broadcast for the store/bar, business is doing well on that end, and they are looking forward to what the future holds. On the concrete front, he is breaking into the Neptune Panels this year (after having gone on the training near the end of the season in New Hampshire last year). He has been contacted by a major architecture company who did the Museum of Nature and such (Ty is the only qualified installer and supplier for these things in the region) . He is in talks with lots of architects and started working on his rebranding last night to be more of a "resort living" company, since he does these features and stamped concrete, firepits, etc now. Should be an exciting and huge season for him. Big things in 2016 :) Yesterday I posted about my first trimester, and I'm happy to report that while when I do feel sick, it's incapacitating, that...

First Trimester: complete

Well, I did it. I read somewhere that the first trimester of pregnancy is the longest (not just FEELS like the longest, but IS the longest), taking up 13 weeks (some doctors even say 14 weeks). Today I am 13 weeks, 1 day. And so far, not off to a great start, so I'm going to say my first trimester is 14 weeks. Though I'm fairly certain I was only feeling sick this morning because I got too much sleep last night, and I couldn't stomach my whole breakfast. Yesterday was Garett's third birthday, and even though I think he's a big boy (hello, hormones), I know he's still very much a tiny human, and I can't believe how much your brain blocks out from previous pregnancies. #1. Morning sickness/All day sickness. I know I was sick for Garett. But I don't remember it taking every ounce of energy out of me. I miss food. I miss being able to breathe in cold air and have it feel good, or cooking dinner--all these things make me gag uncontrollably. I can count th...

Garett celebrated his final birthday as an only child this weekend, but today marks the actual day. As of 7:42pm tonight, he will be three years old. Garett update: Garett has a huge personality. He is quite the comedian, and loves to make people laugh. He can adapt his behaviour to reflect the people he is surrounded by (can play with babies or older kids, or be in the company of adults). He is an amazing eater, and will eat just about any type of food we put in front of him (unless he is too busy--normally when there are lots of people around or too many other fun things to do). He is very active, and really agile. He will excel in sports (Patenaude genes lol). He has taken a bit of interest in music (plays on his guitar, piano and sings in his microphone. He also loves his harmonica and drums). His favourite band is Toto (daddy's genes), and loves to sing along to "Rosanna" and "Hold the Line". He also loves to sing along to certain theme songs ...

Thoughts on Thursday

As we get ready to bid this week farewell, I have a few thoughts. -why, after a dusting of snow, is traffic bumper to bumper? There were no accidents. There was no cause for delay. We seriously don't need to be stop and go, doing 20 km/hr max. Guess what? That actually causes more fender benders--people slamming on brakes. Also, how hard is it to keep the 417 salted/sanded and on/off ramps plowed clear??? The city is seriously flubbing up this year with snow removal. You would think we're not in Canada or something! SPOILER: It snows here. ALOT, usually. Also, you saved over 4 million in the snow removal sector just from having snow fall later. I silently plead with them in the car every morning to get their stuff together! -Our house is finally listed on the realtor.ca site. It's been on the Comfree site for a few days now, but it takes a few days for the realtor site to review and approve the application :) Here we are!: https://www.realtor.ca/Residential/Single-Famil...

I've got 23 problems..

When we saw that "YES-pregnant" indicator pop up, we immediately knew that shortly after Christmas we would list our house. I cleaned out all of the bathroom cabinets, organized our master closet, started going through toys (brought 4 moving boxes worth over to our daycare), made endless trips to the clothing donation bin. I thought I had a huge head start on things. Then we told our families, and then Christmas happened. And then I got caught up in planning Garett's birthday, and dealing with doctors appointments, date night, thinking of Tyler's birthday, work, and Tyler's work schedule. Things got away from me, and that head start was long gone. My list started out with 60-some items. Closets to sort through, rooms to organize, hallways to paint, toys to deal with, a house to stage, items to get rid of (sell, donate, etc), and we have dwindled the list down greatly. Happy to report that the list is down to 23 items. Unhappy to report that the realtor comes...

Life Recap

Life has been crazy lately. And not just a little bit. If you know me and my husband, you know we like to keep life entertaining and busy (see: Crazy, in the dictionary). Christmas was a little hectic in the fact that a lot of stuff came down to the wire. Tyler did his shopping on Christmas Eve (even though I urged him not to do this again this year lol), and we had to attend my work Christmas party with Garett. We arrived just as Santa was handing out the gifts, and did not stay long after. We dropped G-man off at my in-laws house for his nap, and we headed out to do the shopping and stopped for a quick lunch. He was still napping when we got back, so we just visited for a while. When Garett woke up, we fed him and headed over to our friends Rod and Sharon to exchange gifts and visit for a while. We ended up staying for dinner, and then headed to Tyler's aunts house. We stayed for a while, and left around 9:30. G was toast, and fell asleep 5 minutes into the car ride. But woke u...
