Quick 18 Week Pregnancy Update

Baby is about the side of a bell pepper (5.5 inches from head to rump and weighs about 7 oz). Feeling: overall, pretty good actually! I am feeling tired still; but I think this is going to last the entire pregnancy with everything we have on the go, and an active/involved toddler at home that likes to run and play and do cardio intensive activities lol Physically, not much. I feel some "quickening" here and there and always catches me off guard. But soon enough, that quickening will become full on kicks. Eating: Living off the simple things in life. Multigrain cheerios. Toast with peanut butter. Hummus. MILK. I am craving it so bad. Other: Going on March 10 to find out if we are having a boy or girl :) Hopefully the peanut cooperates and let's us see! lol Looking forward to: coming up with more ideas for the nursery, starting to shop for the baby, moving, picking out more names (hopefully--we have a few of each gender picked out for now), more doctors a...

Weekend Recap

I can't wait to be on maternity leave again so I can start photodumping into every blog post. My computer at work won't let me upload pictures, so I would have to do it from home and then write the corresponding post #aintnobodygottimeforthat This weekend was pretty laid back! We have been getting lucky with weekends at home. I am thankful for the time we get alone at home as a family :) Friday Tyler had to pick Garett up by noon from daycare, but had an estimate in town at 2:30, so he dropped G off at Granny's house for an hour until I could pick him up! When we got home that evening, we cleaned the basement out a bit and headed to the grocery store to do a medium sized haul. Garett loves grocery shopping, and is always the apple of a few employees eyes while we are there, so it takes longer than it does if I just go alone. We ran into tylers Aunt Charlene there also, so stopped to chat for a few minutes. When we got home, we just had a random dinner and relaxed. It wa...

It's Friday!

We are going into the weekend with a little less stress than we had this week, but things are really starting to pile up and it's getting to be too much! I can't wait to just move and for the next month to be over--and I hate wishing time away like that!! Yesterday was the inspection on our new place. A few issues arose, but the owner has said he would have them all professionally fixed before closing and provide us with receipts to prove it. So we waived our conditions, and kept the deal as-is. It's officially ours as of March 31! After the inspection, I was feeling overwhelmed, so decided we needed the day to unwind. Tyler is feeling all sorts of stress also, and I know he doesn't like to offload that onto me, being pregnant and trying to remain as calm as possible lol But we have really been dealt quite the hand in the last month and a half, so just trying to get through and make it work! Sunny days on the horizon, I know that much lol We headed over to Broadwa...

Random Tuesday

The days are really blurring together! I feel like I live on the phone, and work time interferes with all of the home stuff I need to be doing. We have to arrange to get rid of a bunch of stuff to simplify the move--so we don't have to move it and THEN get rid of it. I started going through stuff last night. It's always so daunting to begin because your brain has you jumping all over the house. So yesterday I made a chronological list, of what needs to be accomplished each night before we move! I made some beef and quinoa stuffed peppers for dinner, and then G and I made some brownies. We changed up the recipe a lot , so I didn't know if they would turn out, but they're pretty good! A much healthier version of the standard. The people that bought our place waived all of their conditions, so tonight we officially get to stick the "I SOLD" signs up and celebrate that part of the process coming to a close. We will waive ours on the new place on Friday, as...

weekend recap

I am excited to get to a time in life again where my weekends feel like weekends! I just feel like we spend our entire weekends stressing out about things lately. There is a shift in that coming this week, and I couldn't be happier. Thursday night our buyers did their inspection on our house, so we had to be out of the house for a few hours from 4-7. Turns out they only took an hour in our house, so we could have just gone home, but instead, we used that down time to drop G off with Granny and go see a few houses. We were feeling VERY discouraged that evening. All the yards were postage stamps. I couldn't see myself waking up and going down to any of those kitchens in the middle of the night, or how we would make the bedrooms work when they were so tiny. Overpriced, underdone. So many people lack pride of ownership and it really shows when you're looking at houses. We went home and scoured the realtor.ca site. We decided to branch out our budget a little bit (mortgage b...

Thoughts on Thursday

I have so many thoughts swirling through my mind today. - I am 16 weeks and three days now, and the first half of this pregnancy is taking FOREVER. Until I know the gender, it will go slowly. Come on 19 weeks! - Still in a fight with insurance about the value of the truck that was stolen and written off. Tyler had one last chat with them last night and she seemed to finally understand where he was coming from. - The inspection on our house for the buyers is tonight. We are going to look at more houses while they do their thing at our place. - Why, you ask? Because we had the inspection on the house we conditionally bought on Tuesday, and we walked away from the deal. We signed the termination this morning. The inspection didn't go well there. - Immediately following that inspection, we went to see two houses that I liked online. I didn't like them so much in person. We couldn't agree on the sentiments on those houses, which is weird, since usually we are very much...

A little game of catch-up

Oh, hello there. Long time no chat. Yes, it's the typical sob story. Life is crazy. Blogging can wait. Here I am to play a little game of catch up in point form :) -They found Tyler's truck (I can't remember if I wrote about this). It was pretty dinged up, and the inside was completely dismantled pretty well. So they ran an investigation on it, and ruled it to be a write off. Tyler is working with insurance now to work out a fair price. He will order a new F-250 with the specs he wants to replace it. - On Feb 6 we went to the children' museum. There is a big Thomas the train exhibit. When we arrived we saw the MASSIVE line to get in. So we went and looked at all of the other things there is to see there (wow. It is SO cool. Literally would have been my favourite place as a child). We stopped at the cafeteria for lunch, and took in some views of the parliament buildings from there. Then we approached the line. We waited probably 45 minutes in line to get in, b...
