Random Tuesday
The days are really blurring together! I feel like I live on the phone, and work time interferes with all of the home stuff I need to be doing.
We have to arrange to get rid of a bunch of stuff to simplify the move--so we don't have to move it and THEN get rid of it. I started going through stuff last night. It's always so daunting to begin because your brain has you jumping all over the house. So yesterday I made a chronological list, of what needs to be accomplished each night before we move!
I made some beef and quinoa stuffed peppers for dinner, and then G and I made some brownies. We changed up the recipe a lot , so I didn't know if they would turn out, but they're pretty good! A much healthier version of the standard.
The people that bought our place waived all of their conditions, so tonight we officially get to stick the "I SOLD" signs up and celebrate that part of the process coming to a close.
We will waive ours on the new place on Friday, as long as Thursday's inspection goes well :) *knock on wood*
We got Rogers, Enbridge, Hydro, etc all ready to go for when we move (for April 1). Now we just have to worry about service Ontario visits, letting my work know, etc. We will stop in at the post office and get the mail forward option...I still have to mail Garett's birthday thank you cards. #sofarbehindonlife #sorrynotsorry #busymomproblems
Yesterday was G's first day at his babysitters new house, and he LOVED it. He told me all night her new house has a fireplace that makes them all toasty, and big cozy blankets and fluffy pillows and that he napped on the couch in front of it. haha. Pretty cute. My boy likes fireplaces. Hopefully Thursday's new daycare meeting goes well! I would love to cross that off this list this week too :)
This morning I popped in to get my IPS #2 blood work done, and headed over to my obgyn. Standard appointment, went well. I got my referral for the gender identification ultrasound, which is on March 10 :)
Weds and Thursday they are calling for another winter storm. Yipee! Just hope its not too bad so our inspector can see the outside of the house on Thursday without a thick layer of ice on everything!
Friday Garett and daddy are going to spend half the day together. He has to be picked up by 12, since our babysitter is heading to Hamilton for her daughters basketball tournament.
Today I made my list of movers to call. We might price out renting three movers. That's the thing about moving over the course of two weekdays--it's hard to find friends to help because not everyone can be off work! We will see :)
I handed in my cord blood donation forms today at the doctors. So that's all set. We have to get to the hospital to pre-register still, and then I don't have much to worry about aside from the diabetes testing in 10 or so weeks :)
Yesterday was Garett's first full day and night without any bottles. We're a little behind on taking it away from him, just because he was so good about it.But I guess everyone has something--whether it be taking away a soother, bottle, etc...those small comforts are hard to take away. But he was amazing. He asked for his bottle before bed, and I said no, he could have his milk in a sippy cup in our bed before going to sleep. He drank it all and went to bed no problem. Didn't wake up once! We all slept in until 7:30 today! Maybe it'll be easier than I thought. :)
He's potty trained through the day, now we just have to work on the overnights. I think I will wait to push this for when we get to the new house. Boys are harder to potty train through the night than girls, I hear. So in the new place, he has a bathroom right beside his bedroom, we can work on that then, so he doesn't have to come down the hall everytime, and I'll put some nightlights out for him. He's a pretty cooperative and fast learning boy, I think once we hunker down, he will pick it up quick :)
It's turning out to be a really hectic couple of months for Tyler and I, and we hardly get any time alone together anymore. We are going to try and reinitiate the date days. It really helps us reconnect and remember we have more in common than just Garett. When we make time for our relationship, we are happier people, and can show Garett what a nice healthy relationship is. When we participate in these things, we really bicker like old people much less. We need a date night asap.
I woke up in the middle of the night the last two nights freezing. I thought maybe I was just tired and it felt cold--but last night I woke up enough to realize no it's actually freezing. it was 15.5 degrees in my house. I must have threw off the schedule last time I touched the thermostat and didn't set it right through the night. oops! I bumped I back up to 22.5 and went back to bed. it warmed up fast :)
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Once Tanner got the potty training and was actually wearing underwear and going on the toilet, we didn't use anything but underwear at night and he never has peed in the bed...but again, he holds his pee for long periods of time so it's not shocking....considering boys are "harder", he was hard to grab the concept but once he did it one day all day, out went the diapers and pull ups and he was in underwear all day/night and he never used a potty or a toilet trainer thing...peed standing up from about week 2 lol
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely nice to not have to worry about it anymore! We didn't want to worry about it for long, and wanted him to not need diapers anymore at all by the time we had another, so we started potty training seriously a few months ago. Up until then, he would sometimes ask to go on the toilet, but I didn't want to rush him, so until it was a routine, I just kind of left it. I feel good and ahead of the game on that at least that he just turned three and he's good to go. Night time will come eventually for sure, maybe by the time he's Tanner's age! I don't worry so much about overnight because I just wanted to not worry about the day for when he's entering school age. G likes to pee standing up too haha so funny to see them like little men standing there! We don't use pull ups at all--just bought some of those training underwear that are a little thicker than regular briefs. He feels like such a big boy! Super cute.
