Four day weekend recap
Our weekend started out on Friday. Daycare was closed, so we were all together for most of the weekend.
Thursday, my world started weighing heavy on my shoulders. I was going through some serious anxiety /depression I feel. I hadn't been out of the house alone in a while, the kids were sucking all of my last bit of energy, I was feeling grungy and just broken. I cried a lot. Real life problems. It's not always sunshine and rainbows. Anyways, tyler walked in and was like " you need to go somewhere. Get out and do something. " but then he immediately pulled a muscle in his neck and could barely move. So I went out Friday night instead with my friend Shannon. I needed to cleanse my soul and just talk and be myself and not the person everyone at home needed me to be. We ended up talking and eating for two hours. When I got home Garett was in bed, but Keira was just having a night time bottle when I got home. Our friends rod and Sharon were here. They had brought Greek for dinner for the boys, and a new pair of Star Wars pjs for Garett. I was glad to see them, but not glad to go to bed at 11:30, only to lay awake until 1am.
Saturday morning the boys were up and ready and out the door by 8am. They were heading ice fishing for the morning. They caught nothing , but Garett said he had fun anyways. I think he thinks fish don't actually live in water because he's never caught anything in the four times he's gone, lol
Later on, I got ready and Casey and Shannon and rylie came over. Tyler and I had late Valentine's plans, and went out with another cousin and his girlfriend.
We went to casino du lac leamy to see the show "Famous". It's kind of a concert, with a live band, three singers that alternate and 5 dancers. They sing all the hits from the 1970's to now. I'm a little sad they missed out on a ton of my favourites, but it was still really good! We went for dinner to Arome at the Hilton beforehand. It was so so. Overpriced , and they overlooked my steak. For the prices they charge, they should know how to cook them perfectly. But dessert was excellent! We won't go back, but it was nice to be out for dinner.
After the show, we each stuck $20 in slot machines. I lost $5 and cashed out because tyler made $100 in the 5 mins we did it for. So it was a small win. We aren't much of gamblers, and it paid for half of dinner, so that was cool !
I drove Shannon home once we got back, and got mcdonalds on the way home. We stayed up and watched some tv and ate and went to bed. We shouldn't have stayed up late, lol. Oops
Sunday was a lazy day. We didn't do much. Garett and I were bored, and I wanted to take him out to do something but I knew with it being family day weekend , everything would be CRAZY. So we went to the dollar store and picked up a ton of spray and squeeze bottles, a snowball maker, a fort block maker. Then we ran to Metro and picked up a bunch of food colouring in regular and neon colours and headed home. It was SO nice out, we filled up our bottles with water and all different colours and headed outside. We built foxholes all over, with blocks built up around them, stockpiled snowballs in each hole, painted all the snow and threw snowballs at the house. Him and I played outside for three hours. :) daddy and Keira napped and played inside.
We took turns having hot bubble baths, had dinner and were in bed early!
Monday was family day. So we hung out for a bit; Garett and I went to shoppers to pick up some diapers, some snacks and went to Tim hortons to grab breakfast for us all. Later I the day, the boys went to tys store (it was closed), and ran around playing for a few hours to burn off energy while Keira napped like crazy. We put away a bunch of laundry and dishes and watched a movie together.
Not much has been going on this week. Garett has been exceptionally good at daycare, at eating his dinner without prompting and getting ready and brushing his teeth alone in the mornings. He's been earning five stories a night, and I've been buying him stuff every time we go out because he's so darn good! Keep it up, buddy!
Yesterday, I started spring "cleaning". More like going through things and organizing so far before cleaning. I did all the drawers , cupboards and closet in the master. I threw out two garbage bags of stuff--old purses and shoes and tank tops and stuff that have seen better days. And two more garbage bags of stuff to get rid of! It feels like I can breathe in here now. I also cleaned out a bench thing downstairs. So it's almost empty now. I made one of the baskets all my extra wrapping stuff (boxes, tissue , bows, basket bags, etc)
I can't wait to start the cleaning process. Desperately want to pull out the couches and clean under them. Between Garett and Tyler, so much stuff falls back there. Yuck.
Last night in the middle of the night, they were doing snow removal on our street behind up. The one dump truck laid on his air horn four times and woke ty and I up. I looked out and there were five dump trucks lined up waiting to be filled, and no reason for the honking in sight. A few weeks ago, the snow plow did this. This is unacceptable to blow air horns in residential areas at 2am. Tyler is calling 311 today to complain. The level of rage I feel being woken up by something like that on a night I'm actually getting a good night sleep? Highhhhhh level.
Anyways, that's about it!
I finished off prison break and cried like a baby. Now I'm onto Wentworth. So far I'm not a huge fan. Halfway through season 2 now.
