School stuff

Well, next week it begins. I have all the T's crossed and the i's dotted, and we are ready, aside from lunch groceries.

The kindergarten wishlist only consisted of a few things:
-a yoga mat for the quiet time. The one I bought is now somehow $12, so if you're looking for a good one, I highly recommend THIS ONE

-they also asked for a box of Kleenex, so I bought two jumbo packs of 8 boxes each of Kleenex. I know my kid alone will go through half of that, lol

-one pack of markers. I made Garett up his own pencil cases of stuff, and am sending ten packs of different crayola markers (fine tip, regular , washable, different size of packs with different colonies , etc)

-3x large glue sticks. I bought them 4 packs of three large elmers glue sticks, because : glue and kindergarteners.

-a box of large ziplock bags. I bought two club packs of three boxes each. I'm not sure what they use them for, but ziplock bags are handy!

- large backpack for the child. Garett's favorite color is blue, so I got him THIS ONE

- lunch bag. Got him THIS ONE

-sleep pillow/blanket/stuffie. So he picked out a batsman suitcase off Amazon, bought a new pillow from bed bath and beyond , an avengers blanket , and he picked a lion stuffy at the store.

-everything has to be labeled, obviously , so most things got the sharpie treatment on the tags, but things like backpacks , jackets , etc will get cute tags my sister had made for him a few christmases ago. Here's some : HERE

-his new school clothes are all washed and hung ,his shoes are all relaced with THESE awesome laces.

- for lunches, I got These easy containers
A bunch of different characters of Thermos drink cups
A few of These thermos's for warm lunches
These skinny Ice packs
And these awesome stackable cutlery sets

Here's to the year !! Happy schooling , everyone :)

  1. I send the bare minimum because our stuff gets shared and that pisses me off...my kid along with every one else in his class do not need 7 white erasers, seriously? I think I had the same white erase for YEARS. He needed three boxes of crayons, nope, they will get one.

    1. Ours gets shared as well, but as my parents were both teachers, I understand that if the parents don't help out, the teachers will spend their money to make sure the kids have the supplies they need. I'd rather give too much and it not get used , or used in another class than anyone be without, or them having to spend their hard earned money on stuff for the kids. :)

  2. I can't even believe that he starts next week already! It seems like yesterday that he was the cuddly little baby boy!
